People chatting on the thread like PMs.
Trash talk that doesn't benefits the readers at all such as "you wanna buy that I sell my kb gf half price you buy half price (some trash like that)" do check previous page.

I thought of the same thing too (but not necessarily the same posts as you mentioned), #1 reason why I don't bother with Lowyat forums but then again this section doesn't add to your posts counts, aka they don't care whatever you post here.

I feel we should have a newbie thread for asking questions about where to buy, what switch, etc and the usual Club thread to talk other topics related to mkb, not related to newbie questions. There are a lot of gem conversation here but it's often get derailed by newbie question.

Heh I posted a WTS in their page ( while their own group buy can be posted and pinned, such irony ) then one of the admin removed it and post about no selling and stuffs and get raged when I raise about the group buy and decided to kick me out 

Well actually I have no grudges against milking newbie but at the very least don't tell lies la, if you source it from taobao u just tell it's from taobao, unlike someone few post above that lied that he actually owned them and sell them at higher price few years ago when I still newbie, now they make a fb group just to run their "groupbuy" 

OK. Let's be clear here. I'm not taking sides, and I'm not going to discuss anything that will not be relevant to the facts:

FB's MMKB group is for discussion. It will remain for discussions for the foreseeable future because there is a trading group. I have removed users/posts myself for violation of this, so this is nothing new.

As for the mech market group in FB, it is open to all to post, so I don't think there is an issue there.

As for your removal from the group itself, I will not say anything until a discussion with other admins.

Take for comparison Ergodox. Normal price is about USD199, plus shipping is around USD219. Keycaps go for the range of USD88 for a dox.

Low budget of around RM200 would probably mean that you'll never join a SP GB, and resort to cheap-ish taobao or Taihao caps.

Middle budget RM300 means you'll only reach dye-sub levels.

High budget of RM400+ would end up buying Razer and realize the cap profile all wrong.

Anything above that and you'll probably never worry about "price" when it comes to keycaps.

Question is, regardless of quality and feeling and all that jazz, how many people can afford the FCF/disposable income to buy an MKB?

yeap.. this is the utmost strong fact in here..
MKB is too expensive to own one.. even I also pick the cheapest MKB for office usage

I dont think spending power is an issue unless you're aiming for higher end boards, I think what the community needs a stronger kick into the DIY area. Local mkb enthusiasts making PCB's...etc etc...instead of talking about expensive poison most people aren't willing to fork out for, why not talk about ways you can reach those poison by taking the DIY route. Promote customisation.

The difference is also DIY can be done step by step, like for example a RM600 board. Every month just fork out 200 to get the parts, instead of one shot rm600 for an expensive board, this promotes budgeting of expenses. DIY gives people more ideas to share, more reason to communicate with each other to share methods and solutions when there are problems. I'm a very DIY person, I DIY'ed some audio amplifiers, even my headphones are heavily modded, I'm a person who loves DIY and because I'm in DIY I used to chat for hours and days with people, from around the world even, we are sharing our ideas and what parts we can use locally or internationally.

If all you're thinking about is the price, then the community isn't going anywhere except Window shopping or Cuci mata. For example GH60 satan pcb costs about 100, case get a decent one also another 100, gateron switches another 100 or so. Stabs etc, and leftover keycaps? RM50+-, if you already have a soldering kit that only comes down to RM350+- cheaper than a Pok3r. If you want plate and more expensive case then that's your problem. What's even better is that you can choose what keys you want to have what switches.

DIY was never an easy thing, but because it's not easy that people come together to help each other out. I don't have to hold my words, if you have personal vendetta against other people because of DIY don't push it on other people. I'm thinking on how to grow the community not bring it down.

short review:

-they keyboard looks nice and very pleasant to touch.

-the wrist rest is big and smooth to touch

-the lights are bright, sorry for the picture quality

-the clicking sound is very nice to hear, the feels when you type is excellent but still need to get use to since its my 1st time using it.

-haven't tried gaming yet so i cant comment on that
