According to Microsoft, Windows 10 is lighter than Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 is lighter than Windows 7.

Win 10 is slow in booting. OMG. Clean install also still need 1 min+ to boot into Desktop. WTF!
but my one is damn fast.
my laptop around 30 second. on HDD by the way good enough for me
my desktop with SSD around 10 second I believe. brows.gif fresh installation from windows 8.1 straight upgrade to 10

Did you turn on fast startup? (should be on by default, but your installation have screwed up something)

http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4189-fa...ndows-10-a.html

My 5 year old Alienware M11x-R2 taking ~30-45 seconds for boot up which is impressive considering it takes 2 minutes to boot up Win 7.

(also check your startup tab in your task manager and clean it up.. )

hmm don't like this Windows 10, just now do 1 download and watch some movie, it hangs! damn, well although startup and shutdown is fast, but getting use to the new stuffs are taking time.

think i'll downgrade back to windows 7, at least will be more efficient than just a faster startup and shutdown smile.gif

for those who facing lagging while using win10, seeing memory usage 3g instead of 8g installed ram.(5g reserve example) do this step

win key+R>type msconfig>click ok> select boot tab> advance options > unchecked maximum memory box> restart

done!

Heavy? Hmm ... I think it's lighter
Back then when I was using Windows 8.1, startup took about 3 minutes before my PC is fully usable without hangs loads and stuff.
It only takes around 1 and a half minute for my Windows 10. So it's faster ^^
It could be faster, because there's some period of the boot showing a black screen after the logon logo. I did some research and found that I'm not the only one who have this problem.
I knew it'll probably slow down my PC if I did an upgrade with ton of stuff in my PC. So, I did format and uninstalled bloatware before upgrading.
Up until now, it's running smoothly. But I still prefer Aeroglass theme ^^
