I've been using the traditional shaving method for over a year now, BUT it is still itchy, especially the day after! It's not really noticeable lah since I've gotten used to it, but I'm still wondering if there are any better ways to do it.

Also, to those still using razor blades, which direction do you shave in? I just realized that shaving from top to bottom (from ur arm down to ur body) actually means that you are shaving against the grain. Or am I the only one with hair growing upwards instead of downwards? sweat.gif

both i tried~~plucking looks more clean...shave make my armpit still got some black dots. armpit skin is not smooth as other part so using shave is not nice i think.

there's few shops in bangsar which do threading...
just let ur armpit hair fully grow for like 1 or 2 weeks
then let them thread...
no regrets..
the charge is like 10 bucks

newspaper sometimes do promote rite? get rid of unwanted hair permantly where the sun dont shine? quite affordable.... normally ppl use pluck method... but some might have this problem... the hair still gorws but become thinner. maybe can just shave untill the hairs become thicker then pluck again...repeat steps lo... but some pluck few times.... total gone wan... concern black spots? do scrub ur armpit a few times a month. scrub off the deadcells.... some ppl i know are applying whitening lotions.... above n below....

to warn u gals... plucking is not good for ur cells... cuz in some case... ur cells around the armpit will be dead...

good news= dead cells means.... no more hair will grow
bad news= ur armpit will sag... i dunno how to spell... u will have old lady sagging armpit.

this apply to eyebrows oso... so dun pluck eye brows...
u will get old faster... cuz the muscles around the eyebrow will no longer be firm....

Something like a shaver, but it "pulls" instead of shaves, I think.

Btw, regarding the dark spots, I was told it was mostly due to toxins trapped in the lymph nodes. Don't know if it's true though.

Something like a shaver, but it "pulls" instead of shaves, I think.

Btw, regarding the dark spots, I was told it was mostly due to toxins trapped in the lymph nodes. Don't know if it's true though.

yeah... the epilator seems good. seems to be fast and efficient. i hate plucking cos it takes time. so sometimes, i just shave. however, shaving causes in-grown hair for me. so, i think plucking is better. so if this epilator have plucking effect and it's fast, it would be great. where can i get it and which brand is better?

to warn u gals... plucking is not good for ur cells... cuz in some case... ur cells around the armpit will be dead...

good news= dead cells means.... no more hair will grow
bad news= ur armpit will sag... i dunno how to spell... u will have old lady sagging armpit.

this apply to eyebrows oso... so dun pluck eye brows...
u will get old faster... cuz the muscles around the eyebrow will no longer be firm....

right now there seem to be some ambiguities regarding Kalo's effectiveness
i do not wish to promote or refrain ppl from buying the product
however, pls do some research on the product and see if u are willing to take the risk on getting a non effective product
i've checked the clinical trials and found some fishy stuff but as some ppl have actually claimed it works i bought it

the distributer in malaysia is
Sanmaki Enterprise
S-091, 2nd Flr, Sungei Wang Plaza, Jalan Sultan Ismail
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

if anyone here are tired of shaving or plucking...do try to use epilator..its looks sumething like an electric shaver...just that it doesnt shave but pluck instead...you can get that in most of the big chain electrical store which sells shaver.. or jusco electrical department (mostly it's displayed inside the glass showcase)

well, i personally made a survey...there are basically 2 sizes of epilator....1 for shaving legs, armpit, bikini line, and another which is smaller in size...which is for armpit hair, and bikini line.

the price range for philips and panasonic, for the bigger epilator is around rm140-160. and the smaller cost ard rm 80-90. the Braun cost more...but i cant remember the price.

i personally wanted to get 1..my friend had recommended me the panasonic...she said that it really works and is able to pluck your hair effectively and fast.

p/s: it hurts very much in the first few times you start using it...because it plucks your hair...however, you will get used to the pain doing it few times tongue.gif

here are some link which might help rclxms.gif
philips elipator 1
philips epilator 2 (bigger type)
panasonic epilator

ADVANTAGES:
Skin stays hair free for 4 weeks. Hair grows back fine and soft. Can catch hair as short as 0.5mm.

DISADVANTAGES:
Epilation can be uncomfortable at first. Some women may experience skin irritation. In some case ingrown hair can occur.

this is from Braun websitebraun website

i am very interested with this. for those who hv tried it.. is there any risk? other than ingrown hair occurence?

Hi All ..

I'm new here ...

I normally shave when I'm lazy ... and sometimes I use a traditional method i.e. plucking

In my opinion, using Epilator is the best, as it pluck the hair from root. I just bought Braun Silk & Soft LS5160 - Using battery (cost about RM199). have not use it yet. will try out today.

Still reading the manual for the usage. Using Threading is not bad either. pls let me know the where I can get the service, bangsar which part? any recomendations.

Read about epilators but have yet to try. I used to pluck but got lazy after a while.
The main thing is to remove the root to avoid any ingrown hair.

Or am I the only one with hair growing upwards instead of downwards?  sweat.gif

Take shower/bath at least twice a day, and wash your armpit properly.

Most people they take bath/shower once everyday and its one of the reason why the armpit itch like fook.

So far I've tried shaving, plucking, epilator, waxing and permanent hair removal

Shaving: Definitely out of the issue coz i felt after you shave the hair gets thicker plus it will grow lots more and armpit becomes darken. But of course not painful la

Plucking: Can be considered coz kinda clean after you pluck. But then sometimes it will looks like those chicken without hair sweat.gif ... Of course it will pain a little but once you get used to it then should be ok

Epilator: I tried before I think mine is Braun as well. Its kinda cool can pluck the hair so fast. To ppl like me having skin sensitive after plucking it will red so I don't really use it. Its little bit painful. If not careful might have ingrown hair as well(kinda difficult to remove this)

Waxing: Can be quite clean also have to see where you do it. So far I went to salon and didn't DIY. It can last longer and sometimes it won't grow that much. It will cause redness for maybe a day or two

As for permanent hair removal... its super exp and it doesn't really PERMANENT you know. It also depending on which type you did, depending on ur hormones, your hair etc etc factors. The one I did was LHE(light heat energy) something like that. You can google it. Those who have little hair then maybe you can try. Results is hair grow really slow maybe a month or two only need to do once. It will become very fine. Almost like your arm hair those type. The thing is it will somehow still grow not sure when. Some ppl may take months some take years for it to grow back. Usually ppl will take about 5 times min. Some ppl only need like 3 times then they need to touch up like maybe half year once or a year once. The hair so far for me it will grow but really much finer than the original and shorter.

The package can cost up to like RM900 perhaps. But then so far wax is much cheaper la heh. Or consider plucking even cheaper FOC. Threading I haven't try before but sounds interesting.

i guess it's the same, just plucking u pluck one by one and waxing many at once..waxing any part of ur body will cause ingrown, depends on individual..therefore, u need to expoliate,so that the ingrown hair can come out. easy solutions. icon_rolleyes.gif anyway, waxing remove dead cell on your skin..i always love the feeling after waxing..so clean and smooth. biggrin.gif
the hair will go back 2-3 weeks-also depends on individuals..but fine hair rather than coarse one after shave or cream removal.

well if u guys are interested, I'm selling the epilator

Product Description
An epilator isn't a shaver in the traditional sense. An epilator pulls hair out at root level and is effective for nearly 4 weeks. It's sort of like electrolysis but is safer and can be done in the comfort of your home. It's as effective as waxing but can be used on parts of ther body where waxing might be impractical. Braun 5270 Silk Epil X`elle Body System is faster and more efficient than other epilators. It's both comfortable and practical to use.

SAVE you from regular shaving and time for plugging hair one by one ~

My Personal experiences to share:
For the first time the armpit epilation will be pain since we always shave it and the hair become thicker, after epilation i found my hair grow thinner and thinner and the second and epilation in the future wasn't painful anymore.

This brand product have the Active Massaging Rollers - 4-way moving massaging rollers stimulate skin with micro-pulses before and after hair is removed to minimize pulling sensation.

I personally using it and loving it... found this lovely product at U.S .. and I'm selling it RM269.90 now having sales so 5 % off !! RM256.40 ~

Kindly go to my website for futhur information or tell me if you're interested.

both i tried~~plucking looks more clean...shave make my armpit still got some black dots.  armpit skin is not smooth as other part so using shave is not nice i think.

In grown hair is like the hair didn't grow out of your skin. It will cause those black dots on the armpit.usually it happened if you don't shave properly or you don't wax properly

Epilator is good 4 legs.. but i think its too hurtful to use it 4 armpit.... my armpit turn so red n its soooo painful.... n its quite itchy when the hair grow back.... m really interested at the permenant hair removal, but my sis went 4 it n she said its not really effective as hair still grow but it finer n lesser..... ermmm, 4 such a high cost, u dun get the best result is like.....er.....so any1 ter know which beauty centre can really guarantee u hair free after the permenantly hair removal service? thx
