What? Why?? Doumbia should be give a chance!  cry.gif

yes I agree to that too. He was never really given much support and chance, and was more or less being made a scapegoat for our awful run of form that time.

2 of your academy promising defenders are gone ie jedvaj + romagnoli.  shocking.gif
what now for AS Roma?

doumbia loan balik.  doh.gif then why buy him at the first place? haish...

guys, time for a new thread now. it's way over 2500 posts alrdy.
*
we still have Florenzi biggrin.gif

anyway Jedvaj is not from our academy, we bought him from Dinamo Zagreb but he never settled in, rumors have it that kid got some attitude issues that did not went too well with the team, some even said that he got a bust-up with DDR shocking.gif

Doumbia was a panic buy... fine player, but it just didn't work out well.

its finally OFFICIAL : Dzeko is our new #9 biggrin.gif

user posted image

a bit of surprise that the initial deal is a loan, but nonetheless there's an obligatory clause to make it permanent by end of the season. All in all, the reported transfer fee is 15mil euro... wow now thats a good price nod.gif

in another news, Balza announced his retirement and will stay to work under Sabatini (our DoS). Wish him all the best, and his goal and tears against Lazio will never be forgotten. Grazie !

somehow he was kept away from the starting spot by Maxwell, PSG probably wanna let him out to gain more play time to see whether he will finally make it big or not.

anyway its reported that the deal is done and agreed, but PSG wouldn't let him go yet until they found a replacement doh.gif

That's Antonio Rudiger, 22 years old German centerback from Stuttgart. We probably gonna get him on a 'loan with option / obligation to buy' kind of deal. Can't say I know much about him but he seem to be highly-rated.

however i read that he's currently injured, may need another month or 2 to be back in action sweat.gif

as expected, Rudiger signed and officially a Roma player now.

Primarily a CB, he played RB as well for the German national team, that could be useful for us. Anyway he wouldn't be fit for action for at least another month I believe.

Now I'm waiting for Digne biggrin.gif

well Rudiger's injury probably is healing well, now is more like nursing it back to full fitness.

anyway, we officially got another defender in - Norbert Gyomber, 23-years-old Slovak CB from Catania :

user posted image

and then there's Emerson Palmieri, 21-years-old Brazilian LB arrived in Rome, waiting to sign :

user posted image

frankly speaking these 2 dudes are just gonna be backups to make up numbers, we probably will never get to see them on the field at all hmm.gif

oh and then Destro is finally gone :

user posted image

its a pity, I had very high hope on him back then, wish him all the best.

there's 1 thing that Roma - as a football team - does it very very good... and that is "disappointed their own fans".

after all those promising signs of attacking talents we got, we still having hard time to break down teams that sit back and defend in numbers. We seriously need some good attacking fullbacks.

anyway Ale's goal is kinda nice, and for all his limitations, you always can count on him to be giving his 100% when he plays.

Florenzi's goal

its just rumors now, nothing is confirmed yet. I do not believe we are giving up on him now, going out on loan to gain steady starts and play times is definitely good for him, since we are kinda stacked in attacking talents.

by the way there's reports that say Digne is *finally* coming later today, they even stated his flight timing... so we'll see about that soon.

Besides, surely he can't be worse than Cole, or Toro on the left, right ? biggrin.gif

The problem with Doumbia is not himself, he is a good player. The problem is with our selection of player. Doumbia played very well in team with a lot of playmaker like Musa, Eremenko and Georgi. But our team is pack with pacey player like Gervinho, Iturbe, and Ibarbo. The blend is just not there. And the fan is not helping either. cry.gif

satisfying win... but it was so 'Roma' that we almost let Juve back in late in game, even with a man advantage.

Big moments from Pjanic, Dzeko and of course Szczesny with the fantastic save ! biggrin.gif

its late now, will comment more later on but for now, Grazie Roma ! biggrin.gif

Pjanic's goal

Dzeko's goal

Szczesny's save

would like to point out that Digne was great in the game - a big upgrade from what we had before, and it really made differences. Also Falque played pretty well, for his lack of speed and flashy moves he made it up with some smart and intelligence on and off ball movements. And finally, what a save by Szczesny rclxms.gif

anyway in the end it still just 1 game, hope the boys don't get carry away too much - there are still 36 games to go ! biggrin.gif

crappy win, but I'll take the 3 points gladly lol biggrin.gif

credits to Frosinone that they actually played quite well for me. As usual for times we always seem to have no idea how to dominate and press over the weaker and lesser opponents. Rudi still have much works to do.

hahaha what a goal by Florenzi notworthy.gif rclxms.gif

btw, watching this match only during the 1st half last night, Roma is definitely one of a few team who can hurt Barca on the counter

btw, watching this match only during the 1st half last night, Roma is definitely one of a few team who can hurt Barca on the counter

when he unleashed the shot I was like "WTF Ale that's such a shit pass to Dzeko..." and then BAM ! Couldn't believe it at the 1st sight biggrin.gif

Even himself was surprised that he pulled it off !

Don't quite like the 'sit back, absorb and repel' tactic but totally can understand the reason. Given our oh-so-prone-to-brainfart-and-meltdown backline it would be suicidal to go head on with Barca - we learnt the lesson the hardest way possible against Bayern. Salah was OK but the finishing touches need to be better if we hope to get something.

frustrating game... its really too bad that we can't mark Totti's 300th and Salah's 1st goals for the club with a win.

the defense really have much works to be done, and I can't believe that I gonna say this : I missed Szczesny already doh.gif

my apology for didn't updated about the Carpi match... it was a good win, but come with costs, now Totti and Dzeko are both injured doh.gif

we're back in CL action tonight, and we'll do it in the new third kit that just got officially presented...

I didn't update or comment anything about the BATE game because I was so PISSED and ANGRY.

This team played like a bunch of spineless pussies. And as I said, I got no faith in Rudi to turn things around. Surely heads will roll if we do not get 3 points tomorrow.

so Rudi and the team got to breath more relieve now for at least another 2 weeks biggrin.gif

the 1st half hour was easily our best performance for quite some times... but towards the end its the same old Roma again to gave away goals, I was almost certain that we gonna screwed up and throw away 2 points there.

anyway international break is coming, another 2 boring weeks doh.gif

this is a draw that feel and hurt like a loss... bloody hell we really should had won this and give ourselves some breathing space in the group.

credit to the boys for fought back from 2 early goals down to took control of the game but seriously, the defense was god awful... Bayer wasn't even that good and we shipped 4 goals to them !

Rudiger... he's a fine athlete : strong, fast, agile... but his tactical awareness is just right at the 'bullshit' level - I lost count on how many times he ruined our offside traps.

by the way, Pjanic is having the form of his life - I'm sure its safe to say at this moment, he's the best FK taker in Euro, Grande Mira !

our Roma will receive a lot of transfer bid if pjanic continue this kind of form, but again...our def are reli awful...no matter how much we lead still they able to give away the lead....and now we at the bottom of the group, if we able to secure the remaining 6 points then the 2nd spot is safe (win Bate and Bayer)

so somehow, we did actually played well and won against a top opponent blink.gif

Salah's goal is a beauty, too bad he got himself sent off unnecessarily under ridiculous situation... I expect the club will try to appeal for it ?

feel bad for Szczesny lol... dude can't get any clean sheets here biggrin.gif

top of the table now, but it doesn't mean much to me - there are 4 teams all just 2 points behind us, thing can changed very very easily and fast. Lets just take 1 game at a time.

it actually been awhile that I feel really comfortable watching our game, we were in total control, even after Udinese got 1 goal back the boys stayed calm and focus.

Gervinho is on fire ! Too bad Dzeko didn't get any, he obviously trying pretty hard out there, but he did played well nonetheless.

Maicon is really a beast - when he decided to actually plays, we are transformed into a completely devastating team. Unfortunately its only matter of time before he, again, will be out with some strange 'injury' or whatever that can't be explained.

and lastly, no, Szczesny, you can't get any clean sheet, deal with it biggrin.gif

coming Saturday game against Inter will be HUGE drool.gif

Although we won and now jumped up the 2nd place in the group, I'm pissed as f*** for the game.

seriously I have no idea WTF is wrong with this team, they can't defend a lead to save their lives. Even we gonna make it through to the next round, we're gonna embarrass ourselves against some heavyweights sooner or later.

Anyway I'm happy for Dzeko - he clearly needed that goal to get some of the monkeys off his back.

well Derby win is always sweet, and we did it with a very fine performance by the players, more so without any Romans in the lineup until Florenzi got subbed. Also, CLEAN SHEET ! rclxms.gif

but I fear for Salah's injury. It looks pretty nasty and serious, hoping for the best now.

anyway for now, Romanista all around the world should just enjoy this great win... Grazie Roma !

sad.gif i think is better for our Roma to concentrate on Seria A for this season...i worried that we have to fight hard for the 3rd place, since inter is coming back and juve has bounce back, while fiorentina and napoli is always strong contender for top 3 spot

I am seriously not happy at all that we qualified. Not with this kind of shit show. The only positive thing is probably the $$$.

Out of 6 games we only won 1, and yet we're able to go to the next round, this really tells you the quality gap between the elites like Barca and Bayern, and then the rest.

Mark my word - Higuain is gonna eat us alive this coming sunday doh.gif

just when you thought thing wouldn't get worse, Roma happened again.

We can't even score and beat Spezia, a Serie B team that is fighting relegation, at home... What excuse Rudi has now ? This is totally unacceptable. I seriously don't know how the board still can tolerate this shit.

Not so fond of Perotti, he sounds like just another Falque to me. SES on the other hand is an exciting but risky option - dude had been constantly injured for past 2-3 years, but the talents are surely there. Actually if we are OK with SES, then why not Pato ? At least Pato is fit and running now.

by the way Iturbe had already joined Bournemouth on loan in case you guys missed this news.

these guys can't defend a lead even their lives are depend on it. Manolas was terrible, he sort of directly responsible for 2 of the goals.

Rudi can't fix this, this is clear as day. I probably gonna take a break from this team for some times as long as he's still there.

as for Rudi, I still think he's a good manager, its just too bad things couldn't work out - its never easy to be the manager of Roma, but he did gave us some good memories. Wish him all the best.

for once in a long time, I actually think the defence was kinda organized there. But apart from that, everything else are just craps.

Gervinho is reportedly gonna join some China team, and the transfer fee is... what ? 15mil ?! Gosh I'll help pack his bag lol

actually, I like Gervinho, dude is frustrating as f*** when things don't go his way, but when it does, he's a joy to watch when he's dicking around defenders with ball at his feet lol. But once Rudi is gone I guess his time is up too, and the 15mil offer sure is hard to resist. I'll miss him when its officially done.

and then...

El Shaarawy had landed in Rome and gonna do his medical. We probably will sign him on loan with option to buy. If we got him like 3 years ago I'll be thrilled and excited, but dude had been constantly injured for past few years had literally done NOTHING. The talents are there though, so lets hope that he somehow able to reignite and revive his career with us.

and by the way... surprise ! we got a new defender in lol biggrin.gif

that's Ervin Zukanovic, 28-years-old Bosnian fullback / centerback from Sampdoria. Didn't quite watched much of him, but he was pretty good in 2014/15 playing for Chievo.

1st away win and clean sheet for quite some times lol biggrin.gif

we played very well in the 1st half, should had scored more, then the 2nd half was just plain awful. We got lucky there that Berradi missed the penalty.

anyway this win should give us some nice morale and confidence boost.

the result is surely a confirmation that there's no need to dream about advancing anymore.

despite the defeat, the team actually played quite well against a top team - something that we unable to do since a looooooooooong time lol biggrin.gif

if the penalty for the foul on Florenzi was given, it could be a very different game indeed, but guess we just luck out there.

good win for us - we didn't had such a commanding win since a very long time as I remember. Granted that Palermo was damn awful but the team still deserve the credits.

Highlights

The talking point of this game is surely gonna be the unbelievable miss by Dzeko - dude failed to put the ball into an empty net from just steps away, WTF ?! you can imagine the shit storm had he did not scored just moment later to make it up of that. Anyway he actually played pretty well there, 2 goals and a nice flick assist for Salah's goal. Let's hope the confident and self-believe are back now.

by the way its not all smiles in the club despite the win - in case you haven't notice, Totti is sort of 'frozen out' from the squad at the moment. No need for me to tell what happened as its all over the news. As much as I love il Capitano - he's definitely my favorite player of all time - but its hard to side with him in this case. Spalletti as the manager should have the full and total controls over the team and Totti should not went to the media at all. Just as things start to going well, we really need all parties to calm the f*** down and talk it over.

As you may know, the reason Totti done that, because Spaletti wont event want to talk to him. As a coach, that is f**ked up. Especially to someone who had give so much to the club. And Totti don't want to end up like Del Piero and Maldini. Showed the back door after years of serving for the club their loved. If I'm not mistaken, Maldini last game with Milan, people start booing him. sad.gif

We condemned Milan and Juve to this but now I'm starting to think we will become like them. hmm.gif

thats a 1 side story of this and even if its true, I maintain my stand that no matter what he should not went to the media at all, as that only gonna generate rifts among people in the club and put the team into spotlights for wrong reason. That being said, Spal and the management need to get their shits together as well to resolve this.

we'll see how things develop and as for now, let's just enjoy the win.

I'm pretty sure and believe there's already agreement for him to take up those roles once he really call it a day, anyway its appear that he still wanna go on for at least another year, and the club is yet to offer him the extension. Lets hope they will get things sort out ASAP.

fantastic win there to add weights to our claim on the CL spots, this is easily 1 of our best performances of the season.

Highlights

The trident of SES + Perotti + Salah is really working well, and Pjanic seems to hit form as well, it really make me wonder what could it be if we got back Spalletti much earlier... hmm.gif

We win against Lazio, but I didn't feel anything, no excitement, no joy. Seeing Totti and De Rossi sit on the bench make me sick. I always though Roma will be different club; which they will treat their lagend and their player likes a family. But this is pure bullshit. Sorry guys, I'm stop being a ROMA fan. bye.gif

typical Roma meltdown - we can't defend leads even if our lives are on the line. And I'm soooooooo done with Dzeko, dude just keep missing chances after chances EVERY SINGLE GAME that its not even funny anymore.

We should stop thinking about catching Napoli, now that Inter is just 4 points behind. Suddenly the CL spot doesn't look that safe in the bag anymore.

It's been a while I'm here as the feeling of frustrated of Totti not playing more than he should be.

However, this morning the news of Totti extension really makes me smile. Then another news hit me, Pjanic will be sold to Juventus ( http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zo...on-pjanic-deal) . Yea we need the money to balance the book so we can compete in UCL next season but sell Pjanic to Juventus? Really? He could easily be sold to Bayern, Real, Barca, Chelsea or even MU. I think the management target next season is for fourth place. cry.gif

All I want to say to Pjanic is : vaffanculo, Judas.

In case anyone wonder : he's the one who alerted and pushed Juve to exercised the release clause at the first place - he even went as far as forfeiting his 20% share of the transfer fee to Juve.

was away for a couple of weeks, and there's penty to update it seems but just gonna noted down some lol.

- We got Fazio from Spurs, and Vermaelen from Barca... not really exciting transfers, but at least its good to see that we are reinforcing the defence.

- Szczesny is back - but with Alisson looking really really good so far, he could be warming the bench this time around.

- We got Porto for the CL qualifying... uh-oh, not my pick but I guess its better than MC lol.

- The media just refuse to stop all the talks about Paredes leaving... jeez I hope he stays, kid is still young and could really contribute to this team for coming season.

p/s : can't wait to get my hands on the away kit once its available here biggrin.gif

an incredibly frustrating game for both sides - we were a bloody mess out there, and Porto must be kicking themselves and wonder how on earth they didn't score more doh.gif

Vermaelen... dude certainly didn't gave a good impression on his debut for the sent off. Juan was pretty mediocre, Alisson was OK, and Emerson... oh my we seriously need a proper LB.

that being said, I'm now quite fancy our chance to go thru now we have the vital away goal and playing at home next. We actually played well when it was 11 vs 11 so I'm confident that the boys will get it done.

There's no other team in this world that is better than Roma in screwing things up and embarrass themselves.

I had such high hope after the encouraging win in the league last weekend, then BAM ! We just went on to farked things up in the most comical way. What was DDR and Emerson actually thinking when they flew themselves in for a straight red ? bangwall.gif

by the way failed to get in the CL means gonna lost a huge chunk of promised $$$, and instead of buying we could be force into selling... gonna brace myself for an insane and frustrating end to the transfer window.

its always the same story : after crashing out and humiliated in Euro game, the following league match will be a shit show.

hightlights : http://www.fullmatchesandshows.com/2016/08...oma-highlights/

its quite obvious we don't have enough cover in the midfield as Paredes and Gerson are really just hype and raw right now. And damn it can we just actually go and get a proper RB instead of keep playing Florenzi there ? Dude is a midfielder ! doh.gif

we actually didn't played that bad... but when you can't take your chances, you'll get punished, which is what happened in this match.

btw our new 3rd kit is actually pretty cool when its on the players smile.gif

Totti started and played a full game for the first time in quite a long time ! and his lob pass to Dzeko for the latter's first goal is just pure class biggrin.gif

well Crotone was pretty awful so I would make a big deal out of the win, but this will come a long way to steady and lighten up the mood after some recent disappointing performances.

back-to-back wins against 2 of the big names, this really should boast up the team's spirit ! flex.gif

after 2 solid wins against major opponents, you know Roma is way overdue for a screw-up shitshow... and here you have it. Who else in Europe can self-destruct and meltdown so consistently ?

Anyway, nice goals by El Shaarawy and Florenzi, feel sorry for Totti on his 100th European match, he do not deserves this shit.

Comfortable win... Palermo is so bad I think they seriously gonna be relegated ohmy.gif

Salah and Dzeko are really hitting fine form now, and SES seem to stepping up quite nicely too, if only we can sort out the defence... doh.gif

great comeback against a decent team, Dzeko is on fine form now that he matched the great Batigol's record - 10 goals in the first 10 games with us rclxms.gif

unfortunately Florenzi got a nasty looking injury... it could be an ACL tear like those of Rudiger and Strootman. Still waiting for the confirmation though, let's hope for the best !

actually we did play not bad... but when you are up against Juve, 'not bad' is never gonna be enough to get something.

its always a tall order to challenge for the Scudetto, so I'll be content to make sure we are back into CL next season for now biggrin.gif

And I think Salah's sale is a mistake for Roma. Although, I have never been particularly enthusiastic about his game and maybe there is someone already on the sword to replace him.

I think Monchi want to replace Salah with Berardi. I heard Manolas doesn't want to go to Zenit since he demand to be paid in Euro. So Rudiger will be the one who will be sell though. To Chelsea.

Good to see Mourinho at AS Roma, it is good for the competitiveness of Serie A. Serie A players are the top performers at Euro 2020 which is a good thing for the league to attract more good player. The signing of Rui Patricio is good too. See you guys at the new season smile.gif

The midfield engine! But also aged already, probably as back-up :S and role model for the younger players.

Last Serie-A game is HOME against spezia, win that and pray Atalanta draw or lose - we can secure another season of Europa - just in case we flop in this seasons' final laugh.gif

Tbh Sevilla KO'd Juventus - so that says quite a lot (to me at least). Hopefully some Mourinho magic will help us get back-to-back EU trophies! rclxm9.gif

Must prove Jose still got it laugh.gif

What happens in spurs and united is not his shortcoming but rather the mismanaged of the bodoh club owner doh.gif
