That seems to be the general complaint from all Peugeot modes. The new lineup is set for a more sporty drive.

I didn't know its that bad , same with wat I saw in 408 clubs comment . I was driving 407 , the suspension was very comfortable .

Yes the 407 has a much more comfortable suspension system.

PSA should think of comfort in their MPVs instead of sporty suspensions.

Yes all 1.6THP engined Pugs are now fitted with the improved version of the Prince - EP6CDTM. This engine was 1st introduced on the 408t, 3yeras ago. Proved it self very reliable. Aisin gb also very smooth and reliable.

Update version of the Prince is EP6FDTM. Improved FC and lower emissions standards. Already on the facelift Pug - 308 & 508.

So does all Peugeot vehicle have a strong engine braking compare to the japs when the throttle is release?

The car that I test driven which is Peugeot 408 has that irritating engine braking when u just release the throttle.

u find it irritating ? on the contrary I prefer strong engine braking. saves me from needing to step on the brake pedal half of the time. its more convenient to drive with 1 pedal instead of 2.

imagine tailgating the car in front and needing to switch between throttle and brake non-stop, now that is annoying.

Looks like you never driven a German car b4. Even my current car which is Opel Zafira aka Chevrolet Nabira have the coasting function that free up the engine when release the throttle.
Even porsche also have this function. laugh.gif

looks like u are ignorant . coasting function reduces my drivability when tailgating car in front ? and for what ? for the sake of 0.1% fuel saving ? I rather disable this stupid function if it comes with my car. luckily my Peugeot don't have this stupid function.
hmmm, I wonder how much fuel this coasting feature will save on a cayenne ?
*
Since you hate this function I wonder why all German cars until present still using it despite many discouragement from other manufactures that just use engine braking

On the other hand, you can see that most of the tailgaters are German cars because of this function. Thus the driver had to step the brake hardly to stop the car as most of the other car are in engine braking. So i think it will be a good function in the highway compared to city.

Yes there a number of after market products to improve comfort levels, all depends on how much one wants to spend. To the items u have listed, add coil springs also.

1. High pressure fuel pump - RM 2-3K
2. In tank fuel pump - RM 1-2K
3. ABS sensors - RM 400-500 each, need for units
4. Coilplugs - RM 200 each, need 4 units
5. Aircon compressor - RM 1-2K
6. Water temp sensor - RM 500-600
7. Rattling dashboard - after 3-4 years
8. Rattling centre console - after 3-4 years
9. Leaking turbo - after 4-5 years, easily RM 13K
10. O2 sensor failure - 500-600 each, need 2 units

Prepare min RM 15-20K after buying it. Regardless if 308, 3008 or 5008. 408 and 508 seems ok. RCZ also same problem.

Now, Peugeot has extended the warranty to 7 years from date of registration subject to recertification from authorised SC.

Most of the items on the above list are on recall now, so it will be FOC. Now Peugeot has 7 year warranty.

Recall items are usually reengineered equipment. Which means the items are better or manufactured to better standards.

Now a number of good independent specialist workshops have opened in Klang Valey. Parts are also available at reasonable cost.

I would certainly consider 2nd hand Pug with EP6CDTM engine. This is an improved engine with good reliability.

the prob with turbo engine is the heat . esp in such a cramp compact space , parts lifetime tends to be shorter .
