Oh I didn't know lowyat has a magic thread. haha.. Well I shall introduce myself... I've been learning tricks and even 'creating' some tricks for a year right now. Card tricks mainly and a few lousy coin tricks. I prefer card tricks with normal decks which requires slight of hand. I own black tigers, ghosts and normal bikes and a few tally hos. =)

Hey, welcome to the family. biggrin.gif

BTW, you prefer tigers or ghosts? brows.gif
*
Thanks. Erm.. For design I prefer the tiger.

My audience always complain that Ghost is a trick deck mellow.gif

Due to the white black and red confuses them lol. Wtf.
*
You're right on that part. Ghosts fan better... but like I said above, I like tiger's design. Ghosts are better if I'm performing flourishes. Tigers are great for color change, snap change, shapeshifter etc.

QUOTE(Andy0625 @ Jul 23 2008, 06:01 PM)
Anyone here can share the magic tricks which they usually perform on TV shows ?
Which the performers ask you to pick and think of that particular card in your mind and reshuffle the deck and throw the whole deck towards to glass which the card will stick on the glass.

Any idea buddy ?
*
Here's a hint: Every magic has its logic. You can't defy physics or science. Do you actually believe a card you chose which is shuffled randomly can stick onto the glass in an instant? It's what the magician wants you to believe. That's all I can tell you. whistling.gif

Its so easy.... U will know the method if your a magician. brows.gif .. I think you just pass around this forum wanted to know secret... hmm.gif
*
Yeap very easy imo. I figured it out myself in fact before I watched a tutorial on it.

QUOTE(Grajindo @ Jul 23 2008, 06:20 PM)
That's a very very hard trick. I think no one will know. Tell me too when you got the secret smile.gif
*
No really it's not hard.. Like I said, think logically. Most tricks are very simple and nothing complicated involved.

Yeah I only expose tricks to my family members... well not exactly expose.. it's just that they're usually the people I test tricks on and after so many times they'll know how it's done. lol..

Btw, add me to the lucky draw list pls. Thanks!

Just for your info, there's so many CTW. Some are pretty easy to figure. But some are hard to figure it out. Anyway, here's one of the CTW i like.

Poor Man CTW
*
haha it's a pretty good one. But I think I figured it out quite easily. This CTW requires preparation. I prefer those that requires no early preparation at all. The answer to that trick is sorta exposed in the video at 1:17 smile.gif

I have palmar hyperhydrosis. So it'll take me twice the amount of time to learn a new move and also half the time to spoil a deck. LOL.. especially when I'm learning something new it'll just sweat quite a lot. Good thing bikes are semi water resistant..

fold tissue? is that even possible?

btw is there a name for a coin trick which goes like this:
1. take a normal coin.. any coin will do..
2. put it in the middle of your palm A..
3. then close your palm A with the coin onto the other palm B (like clapping hands except that your hands will be horizontal)
4. the coin on palm B will be the same side on palm A.

I'm able to do that trick in a way that my palms stay open FLAT and rigid during the whole routine. I do not use my palm to turn over the coin at all.

invi*ib*e deck... with only 2 letters missing it's very easy to guess la bro.. you should put more blanks like...

sv**g*li deck
or
s***p**r deck

lol

anyway... among the trick decks I still prefer the sv**g*li deck. It rocks.

Btw here's the trick I mentioned about

Please bear with my lousy webcam and lightings. Do note that there is no trick coin involved. Both of my palms stay rigid during the whole routine so I do not flip the coin in any way. Most of the spectators I perform this to will think that I secretly closed my palms slightly to make the coin flip over before moving it to my left hand. So I had to redo it several times. And no.. I don't throw the coin in anyway... during the middle of the routine both my hands will be in a clapping hands position. The reason why i lift my hands up so fast is to prove that I did not turn to coin over while it's in that position. Anyway, is there a name for this kinda trick?

drying socks ma.. =.=" What to do.. when you have 2 other siblings in your family studying sure have loads of socks. LOL..

I find that coin trick very simple and effective.. haha.. no prior preperation, no gimmicks and you can do it any time. The best thing is.. so far only 1 person managed to figure it out.

Battle ah? I learn magic is because I'm partly interested in psychology of misdirection and how to amaze people.

QUOTE(eXPeri3nc3 @ Jul 28 2008, 02:14 PM)
Yeah I know, but what's the point of the trick?
*
It's just something random that I do all the time. Believe it or not most people are amazed by it although it's simple.

They'll try to do it their way which is mostly trying to flip the coin with their right hand first before putting it on their left hand. And I have to show them again that the way I do it is with both open, flat and rigid palm so there's no way you can flip the coin that way.

tongue.gif
I do teach them how to do it but they can't keep up with the speed.

Well I won't be buying anytime soon. I keep myself updated with SMC's tradezone. Once got ppl selling any custom deck I'll inform you guys and check who wants to buy. Those people from singapore I think they direct import from ellusionist that's why so cheap. Either that or they go US buy themselves.

Guys, speaking of bulking. I think someone can organize one right now.

Look here:
http://forums.singaporemagiccircle.com/ind...?showtopic=9012

Bicycle Black Ghost 2nd Edition - S$14 = RM34 (original price from Ellusionist = RM26)
Shadow Masters - S$12 = RM29 (original price from Ellusionist = RM 23)

I would say that the price is rather reasonable and cheaper than shops in Malaysia (I think they're selling for around RM40 per deck). Anyone interested in buying or doing the bulk? I can do the bulk but the thing is the cards might be stuck in Singapore for a while because I'm gonna ask my friend to help me buy.

How long would it be in Singapore... that's the question. tongue.gif
Oh "wow" thanks for telling.
*
Latest is until end of the year. Fastest is 2 months later. Because I can only go down to Singapore during my holidays. haha.. that's why I'm asking whether anyone can do the bulk or not. It's almost RM10 cheaper per deck to get from Singapore.

is all bout illusion and cheating bro...no hard feeling i used to play magic too but till one days one ppl change my life..there is some black magic can play..u can even hypnotize the ppl u like..is call black magic...true story..some how i used to learn from master from diff kind frm everywhere i discovery something that really can change and making some ppl abilities increase...i stop long time before i go more deeper for magic...dude..is ok is juz hobbies...once u love it..u will try to explorer...learn n create...u may try google it..no fakes story
*
I have no idea what you're talking about. The tricks we show off are indeed illusion and tricks. I never lie to my friends. I will tell them the truth behind the magic. Like if I'm doing a false shuffle I would tell them 'I'm not really shuffling the cards' etc. Maybe you used to lie to your friends and spectators but I don't. I learn tricks for entertainment purposes only. And I don't understand your 'black magic'. I learn NLP and suggestive influence. It's all psychology only. To work with how the human mind works. So well, thanks for telling me things I already know. LOL..
