I've been with Citibank for more than 22 years. Today I called them saying that I wish to cancel my credit card. For the past few years, Citibank just waived my annual fees so that I'll remain their customer. Sadly today, with UOB, they asked if I wanted to switch to other cards with lower or no annual fees and I refused. So, they proceeded with canceling my credit card. Guess I'll transfer my money out from other Citibank accounts and let it become dormant. I don't feel the call centre as friendly anymore compared to when it was Citibank. Sad that it's no longer Citibank. But happy that I avoided UOB. This post has been edited by shuhaza: Jun 9 2023, 04:34 PM

QUOTE(1234_4321 @ Jun 15 2023, 11:18 AM) Sadly.. You called them prior to the Annual fee charging? If already charged then just use for another year. It was prior to the annual fee charging. I managed to get waiver for the past 3 years on Citi Prestige card. No luck this time. I was no longer actively using my Citi credit card anyway since no longer live in Malaysia. I'm quite nostalgic with Citibank as I've been using their credit cards since my poorer, younger days when it was a silver card and then slowly upgraded to their higher end cards over the years. The other card that I used to have since my younger days was from Southern Bank. But that has been taken over by CIMB and not nostalgic about that one anyway since not much perks as Citibank.
