I didnt get AF waiver for this year (third year) of holding clear card.

How long you have been keeping the card? Spent a lot? First time I heard of 50% waiver. Lucky you. rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

Nope, with 1st Year Annual fee waiver only...
On the 2nd year or onwards U need to call C'S to request the AF Waiver from Citi but subject to their approval give or not...

FYI, ONLY the "Citibank's Choice Card" is Free for Life with No AF !
*
Ic..

I applied and get my card in august 2014. I think next month going to charge the AF. So far my latest statement did not charge me any annual fee

Ya, whether You decide to keep or Cancel the Card U should call them for waiver now or they will charge U AF on the Next statement as if there's NO Transaction have been done with Card it should be EZ to cancel... nod.gif

QUOTE(cdspins @ Aug 14 2015, 08:35 AM)
Stop using the credit card for the moment being. Once the AF is in the statement, then call for waiver. If cannot waive, then just cancel, the AF does not apply
*
Yea.. i will cancel if they charge AF. Even 50% i oso dun wanna pay. Lol

Yes. The same here. I email request for AF waiver. They tried to be funny with me. So immediately I say bye bye to them. Citibank also act very fast. They won't hesitate to cancel your card. ( my spending on the card over past one year is RM 50k plus) .So win win situation. Less hassle.
Btw, I also fed out with the CS , need to press so many button to talk to human

Mind to share how u email to them? I lazy listen to the computer

Is it possible to call CS 2nd time to waive the AF? Like trying luck? hmm.gif

i called 3 times.. 3 times also say cannot waive

1st time i say i want cancel. the cs advice me i should call on monday refer to annual fee waiver dept

2nd time call. cs try to explain my card cannot waive because a lots of benefit.. i shut him up by asking, "can waive or cannot waive?".. he answer no

3rd time i call. i ask again..can waive or not.. same answer again.. i tulan and ask them use my reward points to waive it since they increase double up the exchange points. there no chance to use it at all... i got 50k points in there.. i used 18k points to waive... the rest exchange for jusco voucher.. still got 6k left..

I would say bank knowing you have sufficient point to be redeem for AF, that is the reason why behind.

Otherwise your point will be burn if you process to cancellation
*
sufficient doesnt mean i love to use it to redeem the AF mah, right?

i fine with the CS they provide all the while on first year.. this is my second year holding the card.

what i dislike are no AF waiver, during i applied the CS said we can request. but this unfortunately for me not entitle for it

2nd thing i dislike for the reward points card are Citibank already double up the redeemed point for an item, it really ridiculous..

now i looking for the replacement card with no AF from other banker.

Yes correct, but the problem is you have no choice

Either you redeem AF from point or cancel the card with losing all the point
*
aiyaa... the point so low... no use also to keep it..

better choose other card which got more benefit

These 2 days citibank keep calling me. Yesterday ask me take cash loan. I straight away reject and tell him i gonna cancel the cc. He ask me y. I tell him citibank dun wan waive my af.

Today they called again twice.. but i not free to answer

I found that citibank sibeh scare their customer cc account zero balance. They will call u why u didnt use the card or ask u whether wanna take loan or not.

Next time if u all request for af waiver.pay all ur outstanding first. Make it zero in account. Then when call them ur bargaining power will increase. If they check u still got outstanding. They will offer u cash loan as optional way to waive the fees. If not they totally wont waive for u. When u threaten them u will cancel like me.. they will say settle all your outstanding first.

This way very useful for those af waiver.

This is not my case. Previously (about two years ago) I had a Citibank Cash Back Platinum. I was almost definite that I'll be going to be charged for AF and therefore, I have settled all my outstanding. Once AF is charged, I called to request for waiver but unfortunately, they couldn't do it and I requested for card cancellation.

The current Citibank Cash Back Platinum I'm holding is from my recent apply.

Really... shit. Then my plan not work. Lol

Is that possible they know i submitted application for another cards? Hmmmm....
