QUOTE(AskarPerang @ Apr 6 2019, 03:34 PM) Seems like my 3 years free annual fees coming to an end. Just being charged RM120. Citibank Cash Back card. Will request for annual waiver if not just cancel it. But I'm a high spending on this card. Each categories fully utilize the cash back. So if your assumption is correct, I dont think can get the waiver. I hadn't used my Citibank card for almost 6 months and I try to contact them for waiver, else will just cancel card. I'm surprise they told me I'm eligible for waiver. No harm call up to check if eligible. I think good payment customer usually get waiver. Haha.

Cancelling card is the last option to waive any fees, if really under-used.
Then leaving this thread for good.

QUOTE(ProxMatoR @ Apr 15 2019, 11:02 PM) premiermiles isn't easy to get waived... but there are people who get waived. it sounds more like that CS isn't happy to entertain you, and is happy to help you cancel the card... hahahahaha MC gold? citi gold card mastercard? that is discontinued card (not available for new application) right.... nice to know someone who still holding that card till now Yes. I'm still holding this card, since 2006. No benefit other than earning point RM1 = 1 point And to get RM50 AEON voucher need 23,900 points. That's freaking 0.2% equivalent.

QUOTE(Hades76 @ Apr 23 2019, 04:40 PM) Got my statement 2 days ago for my Rewards card and annual fee was in there for RM 600. Today decided to call to waive this and was tranferred to another department. They wanted to use my points to off set my annual fee ( 150 K points ). I argue why must use my points ? All my 13 years with Citibank I was never charged. Argue and argue until I say I wanna cancel the card if you dont waive. CS says give 2 minutes to check with superior. Not even 1 minute, okay waived for this year. So be ready to cancel the card. No point paying RM 600 while others are free. Not worth to deduct points. Points basically useless nowadays. Less than 1% and beyond lower when they keep increasing the point to exchange certain value. I used RM50 voucher as example (10k points back in 2007, but now 23k) I salute your determination.

What benefit you can derived from a card that having annual fees of RM600?
20k points probably worth about rm50 if exchange with voucher. By value it's worth.
If can waive it, why not try?

QUOTE(sj0217 @ May 1 2019, 03:58 PM) I got RM500 x 1 Lazada voucher. Actually I called Lazada and asked whether this is for RM500 x 1 or RM100 x 5, they said up to my preference. By the way, applied through RP for Citibank credit card In what form you receive Lazada voucher? Via email/SMS (unique code) or paper voucher (also unique code)? I'm anticipating my lazada voucher arrival soon. More than 1 week been waiting. Should it be quick, I just wondering?

QUOTE(the7signals @ Jun 5 2019, 08:57 AM) I use its credit card for 18 years as my main card. Never stop charging it every month since day 1. I cancelled it last year as they do not want to waive the annual fee and make as if i am begging (sedekah) them formthe waiver. This bank doesnt appreciate old and loyal customer. Now i switched to HSBC and OCBC. Hsbc only needs 1 charge a month irregardless of any amount every month and they waived the annual fee automatically. As for OCBC, not only they waive my annual fee, they also absorb the SST. Citibank being the largest bank in the world can really go Kelantan to fly wau. Always greener outside. I've been CTB card cust since 2006 (13 yrs). Actually I'm not that loyalty enough. They (CS) keep delaying my plan to cancel the card because they always get retention team to call me back. My plan to 'get in' again as new customer after 6 mths doesn't happen. I think I missed out so many free gift sign-up outta there. I'll try again this year.
