MAS not many frequent flights now

Can look at other airlines and convert Premiermiles to use with that FFP

upon live chat to request for waiver of AF, on the next day CB staff  called me explained CB given me 10k point and RM250 rebate to offset the AF.. i said dont want and i wan cancel card.. then the staff allow full waiver but take by the 10k premier mile points..
*
Almost the same experience like yours but I manage to get full waiver after giving the lady ultimatum on the spot. My reply at another thread:

Citibank offer that if I pay the RM600 annual fee, in return they'll award 10,000 PremierMiles (not airmiles ya) and RM200 cash back

Told them that I'm not interested.

The lady then come back with counter offer - reduce to RM100 annual fee but need higher up approval.

RAISED my voice saying I'm busy, not interested, product is going downhill with UOB acquisition, don't like new UOB credit card....

Gave her the ultimatum on the phone - can you waive the fee in FULL?!! The lady put me in pause for 5 secs and said my annual is fully waived

Still boiling thinking back this conversation”

if we are actively using the credit card.. normally AF can we waive.. but really in PIA each time..  bangwall.gif

due to lock  down.. didnt really use the benefits of the premier miles anyway... what a waste if we still hold on the card.. prefer direct cash rebate///

I still use. Just went and came back from Australia. Premium Lounge access during this period is not so crowded

I previously requested to cancel my card. They mentioned that cc dept will give me a call.

They called but i was not available to answer the phone.

Today i tried to access citibank app and citibank online but could not login. "...You no longer have an active account with us..."

Does it mean that my card have been successfully canceled?

Im so lazy to give them a call. Such a waste of my time.
*
No don’t assume like that. I’m in the same predicament last time

Hi, I am currently holding Citibank cash back visa with credit limit RM20k. Was trying to apply PremierMiles Mastercard, no documents needed, and approved within 10 mins. I was shocked.

So, what do I need to know by using this PremierMiles card? Will I be charge AF for the first time use? Or I can request to waive?
*
I was a new customer. No annual fee first 3 years. After that start to charge

Requested Citibank to waive my annual fees.

This idiot CS was lecturing that they no longer do waiver as its new policy and need to use my points if they want me to offset the fees.

Man....i never used the card for travelling for years since covid. Yet they have audacity not to waive the fees!!

Have you guys gotten waiver?

Even thinking if i should apply other bank card.
*
If I am Citibank I also don't want you as customer la. I rather waive those who use it...

Trust me nothing that exciting. Been using ApplePay using my SG cards. It's just a saved card in your iPhone. It still need to authenticate you using FaceID before allowing Wave payment. It's very inconvenient when you have to take down mask. Extra steps

Citi Malaysia announced that it has received regulatory approval by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) for UOB’s acquisition of Citi’s Consumer banking business in Malaysia. Following the approval, UOB Malaysia and Citi Malaysia will apply for a Vesting Order from the High Court of Malaya to transfer Citi’s consumer banking assets and liabilities to UOB Malaysia. The transaction is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2022.
UOB and Citigroup first announced the proposed transaction on 14 January 2022. Upon completion of the transaction, all of Citi Malaysia’s retail banking and consumer credit card business will be transferred to UOB Malaysia.
Citi Malaysia would like to assure all customers that they can continue to enjoy the services and products that are being offered. There is no immediate change in the way we serve our customers or how our customers bank with us. Our banking operations in Malaysia continue to operate as they do today and customers can continue to use Citibank Online and Citi Mobile® App for their banking needs.
We look forward to keep you updated on further developments.
