Wasnt this topic just same like the Next Gen Console pinned discussion? I will chose the console with Final Fantasy main series, that will be PS3. If I can afford will buy Xbox 360 because of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Wii games doesnt really attract me.

It's hard to pick a hardware specificaly...so i made up these metaphor to explain the differences between the big 3

eventhough i love the 360 but its just like long distance affair...it can really increase ur love life but very risky and dangerous... ( not that im encouraging it )

wii is like a quickie...quick and exciting...but you'll won't do it often...and you'll get bored after a while...

last but not least, playstation is like a happily married couple...there will be ups and downs but you will stick to it untill the end...

Yes,becoz Xbox 360 is earlier launch than PS3, Xbox 360=2005 november and PS3 =2006November

guys just to ask la, will the PS3 have a longer lifespan than the xbox? in a sense, will i have to change consoles faster if i owned an Xbox 360 considering the fact that the XBox is a year older or will it be the same? cuz for me, if NBA Live 200x and Fifa and pro Evo soccer are Xbox exclusive, i dont see why i shouldnt get an Xbox. and what franchises are exclusive to XBox and PS3? anyone know?

well i would say 360 will survive for another 4 years like that lah, imho. the 360 games only just got started "rocking" recently. so expect more good games coming. off course lah ps3 baru launching and mana boleh talk about ps3 outdated lah but just look at the price tag at the moment, it's unaffordable yet.

Just comeback from japan. Saw alot of PS3 poster and TV advertise but cannot find any real set on display or selling. Guess run out of stock. Alot of shop selling game and console accessory. See till your eye blur.

Wii for me. Now a casual gamer not hardcore anymore. Have two kids now and wii will be suitable for them and for me as well

I've seen PS3 and 360 first hand in full quality.. But yesterday when I went to Ikano for a walk, saw the gameshop there.. I thought they haven't gotten their PS3 yet.. But the fella was playing on standard TV.. Resistance:FOM looked like a PS2 game. Uber grainy.

My advice: Don't hop on to PS3 if you don't have HDTV.. 360 too.. Cheapest way is to hook up to monitor.. Or just a Wii, no fuss about upgrading TV.

2. Game Cube was a flop because they had nothing different compared to the raw processing power of both the PS2 and the XBOX. Wii on the other hand is offering a different experience. It is not saying it will produce super good looking games but if you want something different, then Wii is the way to go.

Nintendo has produced a successful console in Super Nintendo, two great portable consoles in the Game Boy and the DS. Sega has flopped in nearly every of their console product. Asking Nintendo to stop producing consoles is like asking Microsoft to stop making Windows.

Let me count the ways the Wii is different considering you rather post here than just do a simple Google search.

1. The concept of Wii itself is different - instead of running along with competing who can generate more pixels, it decides to focus on getting the non-serious gamers interested. It is also the first time a console is targeted to attract non-gaming consumers to pick one up

2. Mock the motion controller but that itself is different. Did they say it was revolutionary? Probably not but it is definitely not available in the current gen

3. The games are casual, simpler and generally just promotes the fun of gaming rather than "OMG I NEED TO GET A HDTV TO GET MY GAMES TO LOOK GOOD" or "OMG 1080i"

You probably consider next gen as how many pixels are there and how fast the processor is and how uber the graphic engine is. For that, you belong in the XBOX or the Sony camp. Whichever tickles your fancy.

2) The Wii won't appeal to everyone. That's for certain. For those who buy it means that SOME element of the Wii appeals to them. No need to fight over which console is better.

Depends on what you mean by "fierce competitor" my friend.

If it means that there's a similar demand for the Wii as there is for the PS3, you can pretty much see that that's the case. Even if it is just for now.

Remember, for corporations any competitor who may cut into their profit margin is a "fierce competitor", especially one who is making profit from day one on EVERY console sold.

HOWEVER, if by "fierce competitor" you mean that the Wii isn't as "hardcore" as the PS3/360 then it's not really even an issue. Face it, these consoles are out to make money - not really to take care of us gamers.

So faced with a loss making console vs a profit making one, who is the fiercer one, even if Nintendo ends up selling less Wiis?

And for the record, why didn't you mention Resistance:FOM? Instead you opted to mention F.E.A.R, which was released for the PC quite some time ago, recently ported to the Xbox 360.. and currently offering FREE multiplayer(without purchasing the game) for the PC.

With games like Gears of Wars setting the bar SO HIGH for graphical and gameplay quality, I don't see how F.E.A.R, or even Resistance can match up to it.

I would say definitely. But once you go Live!, you never go back.

Just as an example.. Have you played co-operative games before? It's coming back I tell you, and the co-op mode for Gears of War is exactly the single-player storyline.. Cept that you get to play it with your friend! Unless you prefer 'computer' la..

With coming games like Army of Two, you wouldn't want to miss out having a LIVE partner to help you in your firefights.

So like what everyone says, the 360 ain't nothing without Live!. Just as PS3/360 ain't good without HD. Use the console to it's maximum potential.

Absolutely. Most of the games can keep you occupied for several dozen hours so yeah, I do think that buying the console for just the singleplayer is still money well spent

and is there such a thing as a rental clause. seeming its so expensive, sometimes u really wanna try if it is indeed worthwhile. Halo will be ori for me la. but others? no idea. so far for me is Dead Rising and Halo as must play

As far as I know, Gamers Hideout will be doing some rental thingy soon for their members. No idea how it works so far though.

And Gears of War is a must play.

You owe it to yourself to play Gears of War. To be honest, in KL game prices can go from RM 155-RM 165. It's still pricey but because of the 360s awesome online integration it's a good deal.

AFAIK Gamers Hideout hasn't started on their rental service yet.

Financial Wise...

Get 360 1st.. Then Wii. Later-later once you get the bonus... go for PS3.

Am 5 months behind to get Wii and another 12 months for PS3.

I just cannot emphasize enough how awesome Gears of War coop is...

Say, you are playing singleplayer yourself...for some reason, you are bored or you are stucked. You do not need to host a multiplayer game, all you need to do is go to your friend list and invite a friend in for coop!

Jump in, jump out! Immersive experience...no loading in-between levels too!

hmmm...I saw Gears Of Wars demo display at Bukit Raja Shopping Centre yesterday..quite similar with GRAW is it? or any difference from u guyz's view?

anyway.. I have intent to upgrade my pc to 8800GTS/GTX system just to play GRAW...but I found that its much cheaper if I just get Xbox 360 and get a GRAW game..but I wonder the graphic and gameplay between the two machine...any comment?

FYI, GRAW on the PC is suckier than GRAW on the xbox360. my fren himself told me this. when i was in HK for a working trip, i went to his place to play GRAW. after that he bought himself GRAW PC version, he told me it sux hard

Graphically, PC will pawn Xbox 360 provided you have the right hardware (high-end PC).
