U can buy 2 360 with that price. Long term gaming, go for 360 since GC for PC always getting a new 1. And pricey As for me SLI 7900gt already enough to play the strategy game. Others than that, settle down with 360 or PS3.

any lcd/crt monitor can play it. just get yourself xbox360 cable that output for vga. somemore now lcd widescreen very cheap already, and there's a pc fair thise friday-sunday.

My target

Wii <-- Early 2007

PS3 <-- Early 2008

If i were to get any of the 3 consoles mentioned, i would definitely choose the Xbox360. For PS3, maybe i will get the *ahem version... since games for PS3 isnt really meant for the online community (MGS4, maybe coming for the 360 , FFXIII, DMC4).

For the moment, i am still enjoyin the rumble function of the controller and somehow i notice that is a must for all games. Just imagine playin Fight Night without rumble And about sixaxis controller, i would say that it is an appropriate innovation and one of the reason of getting a PS3.

Another good thing about the PS3 is the ability to download PS2/PS games via the PSNP. It will be really cool to get back games for the PS like Valkyrie Profile and Vagrant Story.

As of now, i would say the Xbox360 is the best among the 3 consoles. With a great lineup of games and Xbox Live, i could even say that M$ will be the leader of console gaming. Blue Dragon, Lost Planet, Gears of War are some of the really cool games coming soon, coupled with the ability to play it on LIVE, it will be the next best thing you can ever get.

Talking bout games, GTA4 and RE5 will be on the 360 as well, while these games has always been exclusive for the PS platform.. Does this show the reign of Sony crumbling?!

Edited Sorry for all those Wii fans but then i am not really satisfied with the gameplay, the games, the graphics for the Wii. So Wii would be the last on my wishlist.
