Hahaha hazard. Deserves to be benched by Kenedy for the next game. Pathetic. Just like Fabregas. Lack of competition has made them lazy and complacent.

Hard to believe Jose is still a devout practitioner of his senseless 'untouchables' policy, whereby if you're favoured in one way or another, you can play 90 mins of rubbish and still start the next match.

And those useless longballs into the box when we were chasing the game..come on..there were like 5 minutes+ for us to go for a more measured approach and clearly those useless punts upfield were going nowhere.
2 losses already. At this rate we might be battling for fourth in no time. |

Agree with the general tone of analysis here, the main positives were kenedy and falcao,to a certain extent RLC as well. Kenedy has such an assured touch and confidence on the ball,he simply has to be given more chances this season. If he doesn't start most of our cup games,he may as well pack his bags for vitesse and demand to leave in january.
Jose needs to drop the untouchables policy real fast,as it's obvious the late pre-season and those matches played with a man down are beginning to take their toll. We don't need to be expert physios to tell either. The most glaring of those changes that need to be made are obviously ivanovic, and I'd put hazard's name in there too. Replacing their positions in the team with 'untested' players such as kenedy and baba might just be the wake-up call that they need. Pedro's directness again results in a goal, and maybe we need to go back to keeping things simple i.e; drilling accurate high and low crosses into the box rather than replicate our slow-mo useless passing game in and around the box. Let's forget about all that pretty ineffective dilly-dallying and teach our wide players to cross early, see where that gets us while we rebuild our confidence from there. |

Wow. It seems Swansea secured a real bargain with andre ayew. Goal and an assist vs united, and he plays like he's been in the epl for years.
But then again if he comes here,he'll probably warm the bench 99% of the time,as he's not part of the untouchable brigade. |

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Aug 31 2015, 06:13 AM) I still have one more game before giving my thought on this squad, but this one will be about our performance against Palace. What's your take on the cesc + matic combo working wonders last season?I noticed fab's workrate has dropped considerably, and this puts a lot of pressure on matic. As a result, once the opposing team bypasses our strongest DM in matic, the back four will suddenly be in huge trouble. Negatives - The pivot malfunction, the movement of Matic and Cesc do not provide a good system where one attack and one defend. - Costa turned to such a cry babies..at moments yes it was biased sometimes, the ref just ignored everything because of his reputation. Positives - The substituted players in was great~good. ( Kenedy, RLC and Falcao ) - Mou still keeping his calm. - Windows still open, I dont expect we go on a shopping spree, one big player is enough for me. - Willian workrate - Pedro direct play Transfer Target CM - The club want Pogba, I prefer Veratti, but I dont mind if we just sign Alex Song. CB - The club want Stones, I prefer Laporte, but I dont mind if we just sign Garay. Curious Case of KDB. He left us not because we said that he was not good enough, he left because of the same reason Lukaku left us + some training ground rumors. He is great, but not for us. I dont think he can replicate the same numbers that he did in Bundesliga..this is EPL. I like RLC's strength and finesse on the ball,I say we try him alongside matic and see how he performs. Both strong, technical and hardworking players to protect our aging backline. Remember how Didier would complain once in awhile, and when it lands on deaf ears,he'll proceed to pummel the opposition defenders to submission, usually resulting in a goal or an assist?that's the kind of attitude Costa needs to survive the epl.king drogs truly was a one of a kind striker/bulldozer who could break down even the best of defenses and we sorely miss his unpredictability in tight matches. Song actually is a great shout. I think we were linked with him earlier in the window, but decided against making a bid as we didn't expect the team to have such an awful start. Verrati is special but psg will probably brush off all offers. Perfect timing for an international break, strange as that may sound.hopefully oscar will be back vs everton and the rest of the squad get their heads back in the game, while Jose rings some changes in the middle and especially at the back. |

Iva will be the death of Jose this season. I think that's the most likely outcome. Too stubborn to change his ways,Roman won't stand for this much longer,me thinks.

QUOTE(briantwj @ Sep 12 2015, 08:20 PM) Ball was drifting out for a goalkick,Iva was shielding it from him. As it trickled out,Naismith lashed out at Iva in frustration. What annoys me is it was so friggin obvious, but officials seem to be stoned or something. |
