Uhh... why do you need to reinstall perian ?

the thing wit perian is, if u dont remove all the other codecs u had earlier, it may not work properly... so remove all the other codecs... reinstall your perian... restart ur machine.. it shud work... :-)

when i removed the existing codecs, i removed it from:

1. \Library\Quicktime

and

2. \System\Library\Quicktime

Then reinstalled Perian... the stuff i removed are all the codecs obsoleted by Perian... go to the perian site and check if u've got any of those stuff in the above folders...

I only hv divx, flip4mac(wmv playback) & perian codecs installed n i'm playing ac3 files happily... :-)
