i have a G7, got it a couple of days ago. Actually it is more my wifes', she does love the classic look.
Okay a little about this camera. It weights 'a ton' it is heavy with a very well built 'body'. The quality is also top notch, no complaints here. Photo quality is very good.
The camera grip is kinda small, thus making holding it a challenge, especially with the weight.
The lense is good. I can take photos without flash at 1/6 shutter speed by hand. so what i can say is that the 'is' is no fad. It's anti-shake ability is somewhat similar to my KM 5d.
iso; anything below 400 is fine, above that it starts to be grainy.
The controls are the best I have used so far, very responsive and easy to use. It has tons of functions.
over all good camera..

hi, Got it from the canon 1st aniversary sale at Mega mall. It cost 2240, comes with 1gig + real leather casing (nice), simple casing, selphy bag, screen protector, crappy mini stand, sd card reader, canon neck strap, and most important extra 2 years warranty.
I have some shots of it but not sure how to put the pictures in here.

i believe the extra 2 years warranty and the leather case is really worth it. the other stuff that i got (mini tripod, sd card reader) not needed also okay..

the G7 reaches ISO 1600, but i do not use anything above 400, as the pictures get grainy. the macros function of the cam,era is good, focusses fast andthe images are clear.
As a tip; I have also tried the 710is, and it is also really good. you can look at it for your needs and better more it is 40% cheaper than the G7
