Anyone have any idea which of these models compared would be better? Priority on comfort/noise/long lasting....

Hankook Kinergy EX - at RM 245.00 per piece
Goodyear Assurance Triplemax - at RM 250.00 per piece
Toyo DRB - Price not found yet

Or are there any other better recommendations for the size above? Thanks! blush.gif

If you want comfort, stick to the same size, but now much choices. All 3 is comfort tyre.

If you want to have more grip performance but sacrifice some comfort, you can change to 205/45R16 size, this size you can find more choices of tyre patterns.

How about Yokohama C.Drive 2?

Currently on ContiPremiumContact2, it slides and skids around too much during corners

I want a performance tyre, but I really dont want to change to 205/45/16 if I can..

Toyo Proxes T1R is available for this size but the model is too old and reviews says langsung cannot use in the rain/wet road

Not much choices if you still want to stick with this size. Best if you change to 205/45R16, got many choices.

I tried MC5 before on my Satria, grip not bad, around the same with PS3.

I see, so now the best option for this size is either this MC5, Falken ZE914 and Toyo T1R

the wear is phenomenal at the expense of wet grip (massive slow down and does not cut through water well enough) whilst hard side walls make driving very firm

The tyre almost bald, maybe left 30% only. See the middle sipes on below picture from a new tyre.
user posted image

My advise is just change size to 205/45R16 and get 003, I believe can get less than RM300 per piece

Some more don't know what year the tyre is manufactured. Remember, aged used tyre is dangerous.

Forgot the shop name, that jeff guy from mudah who sold rims...but if you go directly to stamford tyres glenmarie it's rm240/pc inc. GST & installation.

I'm taking the review rating with a pinch of salt since it's customer testimonies not expert review...like MLM, hahaha.

Btw, i'm not looking for outright performance but focuses more on balancing it with comfort and reliability. >98% of the time I drive like normal people on the road, so its not sensible for me to spend more for performance.

Previous tyres i've used conti cpc2, adrive r1 and nitto neogen. Also i've used re002 and ps3 on my other cars. There's no denying ps3 is a very good tyre but theres always that little regret inside me on why i spend so much money on tyre that i will never push to the limit.

My advise is to prioritise on the NEEDS rather than WANTS.

Initial impression, i think it's an okay tyre. Grip performance definitely not on RE002 or PS3 level, but still decent....wet performance dunno yet.

Noise wise, better than PS3, but not as comfy as CPC2...for its price, okaylah.

Nothing to shout about...

Yup, save my life once...but I think VSC intervention also critical.

Tested the ze914 while it was raining last weekend, should be ok if you limit yourself to 90kmh...

Changed into another cpc2 early this year. The new thread is better all around compared to last time I changed 2 years ago. Noticeably more comfort and silence compared to previous one. But grip might be the same, rarely spirited driving nowadays.

So far so good, went to genting touge event, at the corners very stable, no screeching like the old conti cpc2 tyre, normal driving also very quiet, very comfortable..

No Direzza DZ102 available for this size eventhough it was listed in Dunlop Malaysia's website. I called many Dunlop dealers and they asked HQ , no stocks officially imported to Malaysia.

Same tyre size, been suggest by tireman to go for Toyo DRB price around rm320 / 1unit after GST. Most important must be good grip when wet road and good performance. Hows this tyre overall? My Friend Driving Ford Fiesta 2014 hatchback.

So far handling better than stock, dry grip Potenza better a bit, in wet conditions both very good...

Changed into another cpc2 early this year. The new thread is better all around compared to last time I changed 2 years ago. Noticeably more comfort and silence compared to previous one. But grip might be the same, rarely spirited driving nowadays.

Difficult, no really good ones here in Malaysia. Your car is Swift Sport or Ford Fiesta S, is it? I have a Swift Sport that comes stock with this same size also and I downsize to 15' so can easily get good UHP tires size 195/55/15. Otherwise you use 205/50/16 so can have a bit more choices like Michelin PS4 for example.

I picked up the Continental UC6 a couple days ago for my Fiesta. Early returns are quite good. It was pretty much the only model I could find in Seremban, so I didn't have much a decision to make. I figured may as well stay with the stock model, though.

Using yokohama bluearth AE-50 195/50/R16 on my Suzuki Swift Sport. Has been 1 month and noticed 3 things about this tyre:

1) Fuel Consumption has improved
2) Less noisy
3) Cuts through water

My friend using this tyre on inspira original 17 inch. I saw all the tyre are chipping and the wear is very rough. The car only drive at low speed in small city at Pahang. He did the basic maintenance such as check pressure and so on as well. I'm not sure about the quality. 🤔

advan fleva v701, good tyre on dry & wet but very fast botak.. (after 35k KM mileage, thread left 60% or less)

one thing is that when you cornering at highspeed (>80KM/h), you will hear the tyre Skid Screech Squeal sound all the way until you clear the corner:D but still grip on the ground.

That's normal for UHP category tires. After 35k km still left around 60% is actually still pretty good. Mostly just left around 30-40% I think.
