QUOTE(davidhomestudio @ Nov 14 2006, 02:18 AM) if u lazy to extend ur self... den u go n buy wires in shops... wat u mean by 'my front audio/mic chrd nt long enough to connect to the mobo' That's not a very helpful or constructive reply. I'd sure hell like to know if there's a retail alternative as compared to having to forcibly mod the wires yourself and potentially make a big mess of things. |

No, that's the best answer dude, the only way to do it is by extending the wires...I don't think there's any other way... no? Cut the old wires, in the middle, then find other wires to extend it, make sure u connect the same wires, b'careful not to mix the wires... |

is this built in to ur casing or is it an aftermarket product ? Do u have the pics of the front audio slot ? i Agree with Shawty, as the only way to lenghthen the chord is by cutting and extending the wires... |

Not exactly sure how your front panel looks like.
But... You could just disconnect the audio cord at the front connector and replace it with a longer one such as this (typically comes in 50cm lengths which im sure will have no problems reaching your motherboard). Sorry but i'd rather leave wire-cutting as the last alternative. ![]() If you run into problems connecting the two wires (ie two females), just use something like this: ![]() |

If you do know where to find the perfect fit for the front panel connector, please do share it with us... |

You could use the suggestion above to extend the front panel connector couldn't you? (not sure if its just me or the second picture i posted is dead).
Shawty, i'm disappointed and a little hurt when you presumed to know what I was going to say next. But i do agree that that cable would be kinda hard to find. Perhaps one of those chop-shops in lowyat would have it (as in the shops that deal with a lot of second hand parts etc). |

Not too sure what it's called. It's the male part of a pinhole extender. Got mine from Jalan Pasar.

Hey... got the same porblem but only because i want the port to be someplace far from the mobo. I'm planning to put mine on the top chasis of my case. Can i use normal wires or does it have to be some specific type?
