cd driver, noisy sound?

my cd rom/drive(dunno wat u call it) noisy... i was playing a music cd and theres a noisy sound from the drive. is you guys cd drve also a bit noisy?is it normal or wat? smtimes its noisy all the time smtimes its come n go.the spining is too noisy.and when i enter the cd its a bit noisy too..(when the cd goes inside)
im not using the try.its the slot
im using ibook G4 1.33
anyone know?
just wondering wethr its normal or wat.

does that happen on that particular disc you are listening or on all your disc?
Sometimes if you are using cheap CDR it can cause the CD-ROM to jam because of the uneveness of the CDs especially those with stickers on it.

all disc...even when insert original disc also got noisy sound.the sound when the cd goes in really hurt la.when the cd spining inside the sound really loud. the dvd's,movie etc. all the same.
this evening i wanted to burn my work file.then when almost finish it say canot finish it,got error.

FYI, I using Mac mini Intel also have the same problem, it is kind of noisy when you reading the CDs or DVDs. Maybe is the slot-loading Optical Drive make it noisy. even other brand like Acer or others which use slot-loading, also noisy..

I got no problem with my PowerBook G4. Sounds like your drive is heading towards Deathville.

How old is it? if it's more than a year, get ready for a replacement drive.

there's no physical problem. unless it really refuse to read disc or broken, else you don't have a solid reason to convince them to replace it for you.

well you can always try. try to talk to them as it having some problem. depend on your luck then.

try to be more firm lar. like:" My drive has been acting very werid lately, it refuses to read some disc & make a lot of noise, can your technician take a look?"
