cd driver, noisy sound?

does that happen on that particular disc you are listening or on all your disc?
Sometimes if you are using cheap CDR it can cause the CD-ROM to jam because of the uneveness of the CDs especially those with stickers on it. |

I got no problem with my PowerBook G4. Sounds like your drive is heading towards Deathville.
