The gearbox kaput already. Mileage of the car is about 38,000km. The car can still actually be driven on the roads if I don't know about the severity of the problem. Only after the car was checked by the mechanic at the service centre I was informed about the condition of the gearbox. I requested to drive the car back home (it will take several days for them to make a report and order the part) but it was rejected due to safety reasons.

Such a coincidence that the clutch fix of my Ford Focus was scheduled today, and it has to be cancelled as I will not have a car to use if send the Ford Focus in to the service centre.

No you didn't take them, some are not required. If you drive alone most of the time, LLP and LLAN are not really required (basically they dismiss your legal liability should something happen to passengers). SRCC (strike, riot and civil commotion, I believe) is arguably not applicable to relatively peaceful Malaysia.

Flood, this is up to you. If you live or always travel to flood-prone area, it's best to discuss this with the insurance provider to know what is exactly covered.

Windscreen is 'compulsory' though, and Preve windshield and windows are not cheap. RM 1k should be enough (payable premium is RM 150) to cover both front and rear windscreen (RM500+ and RM300+ respectively). Usually people insure higher than the cost of the windscreen itself to cover the cost of installing new tinting film as well.

You can always purchase these extra benefits.

The Proton Preve has a manual transmission? Is this a new model? I am not aware about this.

I have owned a Proton Waja manual many years ago for 11 years, bought new. No issues with the gearbox at all, just smooth and slick operation. Only some parts are replaced in the 10th year when it gave problems.

That variants Preve will be discontinued soon....only turbo version will be offered.

- Do you use 0w-30/5w-30 OR 10w-40/0w-40 on your Preve?

Cause my dad went and buy 10w-40 for his Preve (non-turbo) , but I checked his previous Proton receipts , apparently the SC has been using 0w-30 last time . Zzz. Which is the correct EO grade?

I told him not to change oil yet, I plan to check his preve manual next time i go over . But thought to quickly ask you guys' advice first. Thanks!
