QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Mar 13 2016, 05:19 PM) Anyone experienced reduced performance in the acceleration especially at the higher-end spectrum, ie. from 130 km/h onwards. Currently I experience reduced performance in power when accelerating the car from 130 km/h to 180 km/h. Extremely difficult to accelerate from 160 to 180 km/h, and when the needle reaches 180 km/h it doesn't want to go up any further. WHen it was new (mileage below 30,000 km), acceleration was better. Have you clean the throttle body? If no, try it.Recently serviced car. I found that it is much easier to accelerate past 160km/h with RON97 fuel than RON95 |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Mar 14 2016, 07:20 PM) Can we request the throttle body to be cleaned at the service centre by citing the reduced performance during acceleration? You can, as long as you willing to pay.Good to know the car is able to accelerate better with RON97 than RON95. I'll stick with RON95 as I don't drive over 130 km/h too much. It's only once in a blue moon, say 1 or 2 times in a year I"ll give the engine a workout by attempting 200 km/h. Though this recent experience tells me that i should not stretch the engine too much. Maybe the throttle body is dirty as you have suggested which affects the performance in the acceleration. You can actually DIY, open the hose, use paper to wipe it cleanly. If you willing to pay, try something like this to fully clean them off and then install an oil catch tank. Service centre will not able to clean it this way. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...61&hl=threebond |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Mar 15 2016, 08:39 AM) Thanks for the response. There is a lot dust inside the turbocharger, do clean them. It will HelpI have googled a bit on throttle body cleaning. Apparently the throttle body cleaning usually applies to old cars with high mileage. Some references quoted a mileage of >120,000 km before considering to clean the body throttle. Also, I have noted on the symptoms of a dirty throttle body as follows:- 1. Slow and uneven acceleration 2. Engine idles erratically 3. Reduced fuel consumption 4. Engine Stalling 5. Overall poor performance From all of the above, my car doesn't seem to experience any of these symptoms although item no. 1 doesn't exactly apply as I only experienced difficulty accelerating from about 160 km/h onwards. Acceleration at below this speed is considered to be normal. It is just the car now takes a long time to accelerate from 160 km/h to 180 km/h (cannot seem to go any higher, though I stop pushing the car after I notice the car is struggling very hard and the needle stopped at 180 on the speedometer). Assuming the car now takes 15 seconds to go from 160 km/h to 180 km/h. Previously, the car may just take 8 seconds. Anyway, I'll keep the body throttle in mind. |

QUOTE(theanswer @ Aug 10 2016, 06:07 PM) Most shops selling the CVT oil near to RM40/litre, some even above RM40/litre which is the retail price charged by all Proton SC.The CVT filter and gasket shall cost you another RM300 or a bit more. Labour another RM25 to RM30 You will hardly get much cheaper for CVT oil package in the market, as the margin is low. |

QUOTE(maxizanc @ Aug 16 2016, 04:44 PM) Heard the Preve Exec will be discontinued after the new Persona is introduced. I would say its more about how the demand towards preve IAFM in the future. I would buy a new persona as compared to buying an OLD preveBut i am not sure if this is good or bad news to me? My car is Preve Exec CVT May 2015. RM55k OTR after 5k discount. Wud this affects the resalve value badly or resale value gonna be better coz it will be "rare" Preve? |

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Aug 17 2016, 12:15 PM) I think my warranty will due before I reach 120k. Do you think it's better to do at Proton SC or outside for major service after the warranty is gone? I did outside with my own mechanic. There are replacement parts for timing belt and water pump, which are few hundred cheaper. Another reason would be the lousy Petronas lubricant, as not all bringing in syn5000/7000 and there are expensive. |

QUOTE(HeReLiSm @ Aug 22 2016, 08:12 PM) How much is service for 120,000km estimated? Latest update, timing belt and water pump shall be changed at 100000km instead of 120k.Btw, my car turns 3 year old in October and will be around 90,000 km in milage. I'm still servicing at SC so far and my car hasn't really gave much headache to me since I bought it. So i'm wondering whether I'm going to need to continue servicing at SC, or opt out. As I know, major parts of the engine only covers up to three years of warranty, and others up to five years. Since the warranty finished, I'd think better to save some money and service outside, huh? Some reported timing belt snapped prematurely before 120k, thus it is being advised to change the timing belt at 100k. I'm using replacement parts for timing belt, timing belt pulley, water pump on my Preve CFE. Original parts are as below: Water Pump PW812975 RM656.33 Water Pump Pulley PW811599 RM104.67 Water Pump Tensioner PW812313 RM330.24 Timing Belt PW812718 RM152.96 Timing Belt Tensioner PW812717 RM237.16 price mentioned are original from Proton. I sold to my Preve CFE customers using aftermarket parts (Gaido timing belt c/w tensioner, oil seal, water pump assembly) with labour = RM650 |

QUOTE(oto1202 @ Sep 15 2016, 03:35 PM) Brake System Bendix Malaysia sudah bankrupt, and I dun like them. Eat into the rotor. What is better brand brake pad for Preve CFE? TRW, Brembo, Works Engineering, AFI, Bendix? Give some advice & experience. I like TRW brake pad, its either ATEC or DTEC. DTEC with Cotec coating is better, around RM160 with installation. And if you want to change rotor and have the budget, buy the TRW XPS rotor Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Mar 30 2017, 11:15 AM) Ah ok, will enquire from him more. It's not the same. I haven't taken close look at the brake discs since purchasing the car years ago, but judging from part numbers, it seems like the front rotor is different from the rear rotor. Rear brake pad out of stock now |
