I am curious to know if there are any Preve Turbo owners who often do frequent or occasional hard acceleration and high speed cruising on the car and did not experience any peculiar behavior with the CVT.

Nope nothing happened to me so far.

here some proof...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJ6MnBPhvzM

see the video... actually been running that kind of speed from Rawang. The video ends in Tapah....

CVT3 transmission, wth Boost Spring and German Sausage Mods....Mileage of the car is around 40000km that time, CVT fluids onl changed at 60,000kkm.... original fluid in the CVt is RED replacement is BLUE

hi owners, i have a preve cvt exec and i have never seen the ESC or ABS came on. How do i even know it is functioning? i have so far driven across deep water puddles at fast speed, but still no esc lights on. is this normal? took corners with stock tyres losing grip, also no esc came on. i dont want ask proton to check because they tell me when starting the car, the check lights are OK then is considered ok. but i need convince from u real owners. thank u

Try accelerating on sandy surface.... accelerate means pedal to the metal from rest...

Good to know that the CVT of your car is still going strong with frequent high speed cruising.

The German Sausage modification, is it the replacement of the original large black-coloured hose to the Turbo engine with a combination of blue-coloured hose + steel hose?

So you have used a different CVT oil (blue colour) to replace the original CVT oil (red colour)?
*
German Sausage = adding cable tie zip in the stock rubber intercooler hose...

Replacement CVT Fluid in SC is blue color = no choice.
I think Red color CVT fluid is installed in Orriginal CVT3, CVT3+ is using blue color.

That's why I'd always say damned to all these manufacturers.  We are improvising something to enhance their engine's durability and yet we get unfairly penalized for it.  ranting.gif

Anyway, if PROTON will revoke my warranty, my next car may be the HONDA CIVIC 1.5T, even though I anticipate having the same issue with HONDA's warranty if I were to do the same.  Can say goodbye to PROTON forever.

Oil catch can can be removed easily and the original breather hose is easy to re-route back to original position when comes to claim warranty.

Just make sure you claim warranty in a different place where you usually service. Example service in Dealer but claim warranty in branches.

Yes i agree about that bro. However, my wallet is not ready to spend big in maintaining future possibilities of a Turbo engine problem..

If i to get a Turbo engine car, it won't be a Proton (unless proven reliable) but, if im not mistaken the new Civic Turbo already have some issues with the engine being overheat.

The price i get for the non Turbo was 56k brand new, and only this C segment car equipped with 6 airbags, ESC, EBD, BA, TC etc with strong body with that price.

The safety specs vs price was no 1 reason why i opted for this over previous Persona highest specs biggrin.gif

But this car minus point is the CVT. Even though it contributes to fuel efficiency, i prefer the previous Persona 4AT than this CVT icon_question.gif

Well the Turbo is reliable if you strictly maintaining to change the oil at the correct interval and never ever try to extend it.

I have friends with VW TSI and Price Turbo engine, i would say the Proton Turbo is much more reliable since i really trash it at every time balik kampung, the only difference is, i change the oil like a religion.

I also have a friend with Non Preve Turbo, he once ride in my car during weekend drive, and he vouch that the Turbo is more fuel efficient. 450km to 600km per tank without trying to do eco run is easily achievable.

and I really appreciate the auto cruise, auto headlamp and wiper is a BIG convenient to me.

Hey guys. I might be getting a new car this year presumably 4th quarter. The timeframe is still far but I've been contemplating for a while now.  So within 50-60K, Persona Premiums seems to be a better buy but I just can't stand the awkward shape. I still find Preve's silhouette proportionate and appealing. That put the Exec into the picture. What say you? I know up to 100k mileage, the total service cost around 5-6k and that is okay by me assuming no unexpected troubles comes up.

On another note, isn't Preve due for a facelift? Iriz is getting a little refresh when it's just been released 2 years ago. hmm.gif
*
Wait until end of the year, the will be updates on Preve to improve NVH and color changes. It is worth it.

Guys i own a Preve CFE and i really find it hard to accelerate above 150KM/hr~~it is only when i floor the pedal on a down hill situation i manage to hit 160 mark once or twice on MEX~~i always thought there is a speed limiter that limits the speed??

hmm~~so is it my car problem? any comments?
*
Not normal, get it checked. PREVE CFE should accelerate to 200kmh very fast.

Great. Any engine updates? Sticking with IAFM/CFE rather than VVT or GDI? Anyhow, any update is a good update.

only turbo engine available for Preve, with updates on ECU and TCU for better drivability & reliability

after almost 5 years, the gear knob failed today...

broken already..

below are the list of issue in my preve (its in the SC right now)..
1. mild drops of oil underneath the undercarriage
2. cvt durian icon appear since last saturday till to date
3. 2 power socket and usb are no more in working state
4. krekk krekk sound coming from the engine bay suspected fead tensioner or aircond belt tensioner..

this is what happen when a car is about to reach 5 years.. sad.gif
*
Here is my solution based on experience

1. Check the Valve cover gasket, at that age it due replacement already. Cheap to change
2. Check the brake switch. is switch is faulty TCU cannot get correct signal.
3. Check your fuses. my kids love to put coins inside the socket, it short circuited and blow the fuse.
4. This definitely comes from FEAD Belt tensioner pulley. due to dust and sand penetrated inside the bearing. wear and tear item. aftermarket parts below Rm150.

Conclusion, Nothing major after 5years. cheap.
