Not sure if the fan is spinning at high speed but the air-cond is working. It's just that it's not blowing cold air. As for checking the fan relay, I presume it is switching the air-cond fan speed from low to high. Yes, the air-cond responds to low and high fan speed.

I didn't know that the faulty fusebox is in demand in the 2nd hand market and can be sold for a small fee. Anyway I wouldn't know where to sell it to. Can let the Proton mechanics earn some money if they can sell it to someone who is willing to take it.
*
Cold air not blowing could be a sign of fan-related problem as well.

Last night I had just changed new Hella horns, it's louder than the stock Bosch horns laugh.gif

I see. Talking about horns, I rarely use the horn but did notice the sound is a bit soft. Interesting that you changed the horns, and I guess the old ones were faulty and did not emit any sound.
*
If your horn sounds funky (not deep), it could be the high horn having problem.

Hi Guys, my preve is 2012, and recently i just replace the timing belt in COSE. I noticed fuel consumption goes up from 9.1L for 100KM to 9.4L

is that normal ? thanks
*
I don't think the meter is in any way reliable, what more .3 increase.

there previous post saying proton preve, suprima adjustment is different  from other car..

so, for me i would sent back to proton for alignment as they would know the best setting.
*
If you go to that extent, then every car is different from other cars.

The thing is, to create new standards are costly, and for Proton it's more so. Just go to a few workshops to get their opinions.

erm... Preve is FWD, new tires should goes in front.
*
New tyres should be installed on the rear axles. New tyres on the rear allow better control on wet road because of the deeper treads.

I too agree with you and I will also go against the general trend.  Technically speaking, new tires should be in front so as to enable a better grip (of the road) and control of the vehicle during a skid or aquaplaning.  Logically, isn't controlling the front of the vehicle is more important (and life saving) than controlling the rear?  Unless someone can fully convince me technically, I'll still adhere to my own judgement and reasoning.

This can easily be googled. And there are tests on YouTube as well.

After 6 months of trial, I think 215/50/R17 is better than 215/45/R17 for daily ride. I find the FC is more or less similar since I used the same route and timing to go and return home from work.

I'm also using the same 215/50/R17. Does your front wheels touch the fender when encounter sudden drop (usually when approaching bridges)?
Mine does and I'm not sure is because of the tires size or my absorbers.
FC is a bit worse compare to stock 205/55/R16. Probably because of the weight of the rims.
*
It's definitely because of the tyre size due to the increase diameter and circumference. However I'm not bothered by this, it's just for a split second.

I suspect due to the smaller tire side wall profile.
Previously running on 205/55/R16 - got about 11.3cm thickness.
Then switch to 215/50/R17 - left 10.8cm thickness.
I don't feel any increase in FC though.
*
0.5cm isn't that much lol, I guess when it's time to change the absorber, can opt for a better one.

I've tried stock (obviously), 225/55/R16, 215/45/R17 and current setup is 215/50/R17.

For FC, I think it doesn't differ much from all setups, probably because my current 17 rims are lighter than stock.

The remote battery of the Preve is an odd size. Earlier this week the battery of my remote went kaput and I can't find the size in 4 or 5 stores i went. The next day found the size of the battery and due the oddn size the price is rather high at RM20. Also the shop only had one left for that size.
*
Daiso and Mr. DIY do sell 1620, it's not as odd as you might have thought. If there's no 1620, 1616 works just as fine albeit reduced battery lifespan.

3k RPM, unless autocruise.

Don't think so, it's always been 2.5k to me. If it hits 3k at 120, then something is not right.

Found some oil on the car porch floor yesterday. Oil might be there for days and I did not notice it. Cleaned the floor to confirm the leak. Yes, some oil on the floor the next day.

AA
Serviced the leak, luckily it was not the engine body. It was the top cover gasket. Replaced and it cost me RM150 including 2 other things they said needed to be replaced as well.

Like to know how many here has this top gasket leak. My car is 5+ years.

BB
Yesterday after I discovered the leak, topped up the engine oil. But I over did it with the level at about 1 cm higher the max. Asked the SC to check and adjust the engine oil, they said yes but did not do it. So I will have to suck it out myself later when the oil is cooler.
*
Gasket leak is quite common even for other cars. It's better to do at service center because you're less likely to be conned from the 'gasket glue fee' where these workshops will always charge RM20-RM30. If you buy high temperature gasket glue from stores, one tube can be used on two cars and is only around RM10 or so.

Earlier last month I asked a second hand car dealer on the resale value of the Proton Preve Turbo year 2013. Even without looking at the condition of the car, her said it is RM17k. Seems a bit low to me. I thought it should range between RM20k-25k depending on condition?
*
Just renewed insurance last week, market value is 30-32k.

How do you find HX8? And how much? I cant find online tho.

My next oil would be either Liqui moly 5w40 or 5w30

Or Mobil 1 5w30 if im going for budget oil

If HX8 is good i will try it.
*
HX8 5w30 is currently on sales in Giant for RM130
