Hi guys, I am about hitting 60000 major service for preve CFE. Need your recommendations on a good service centre to do this, if not will regret spending the RM1000++. Was previously going to Apple Auto but had heard few bad rumor and finding a new one.

Thanks in advance.
*
Neh, every SC has its good and bad cases. Like the Mutiara Damansara SC, I heard bad cases there but mine was good enough.

QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Jun 29 2016, 11:14 PM)
Photo shown as attached. Try by your own, if really solved then go sc ask them apply silicone sealant on that parts.
*
I should stuff some rubber lining there.

May I ask what is the mileage on your tyres? Mine is at about 55,000 km when I changed all 4 tyres. The front tyres are nearly bald but the rear tyres still have some good tread but I still changed them anyway.
*
55k sounds about right for BAX2. That tyre thread compound is really hard.

Guys
Plan to change my headlight
Since my right side blown already
What brand should i choose?
Does HID good? Prefer white color
Budget below rm200.
*
Never go for HID without retrofitting the HID projector lense. Halogen projector is no match for proper retrofitted HID projector, in fact halogen bulb is better than HID in halogen projector.

My newly bought headlights are currently being retrofitted with HID projectors, should be ready end of this month biggrin.gif

For budget of RM200 it is impossible to get decent quality HID kit.
Those China made HID conversion kits might come cheap, but they are hardly usable.

Not promoting but look at my siggy biggrin.gif

im driving a persona 1.6 now, but i was thinking to change it because it;s already 7 years old and there is no safety feature. now that i have a baby, need to think about safety as well. i only like sedan car and i can;t afford non-local car. yes, i am planning to get a new one, was hoping for a facelift but no news.
*
Be prepared to spend 50% more on fuel than what you're currently spending on.

I'm assuming you're gonna buy the turbo version. It's a fun car to drive, I'll give you that.

how much roughly to set it up?

Around 300, should be cheaper if you buy the camera online and pay for installation.

25 year old 2 years at work and planning to get a Preve. I have two (2) questions:-

1. Turbo or non-turbo? Difference now is 10k.
2. Preve is a 2012 model. Will this affect anything?

Please help sifus. Than you.
*
Recommended to get turbo for extra power. Many that I know kind of regretted their purchase of executive after driving a turbo.

I want to get opinions on whether is it okay or not to extend CVT oil and filter to 65K.

Right now my car's mileage is at 55K and due for a 50K interval service.

I usually use full syn oil and that would bring the mileage to 65K for the 60K service interval.

Would extending the current CVT oil to an extra 5K to 65K be okay or should I just change it now at 55K?
*
Should be no problem as long as you send the car according to your service record (at authorized SC of course).

how to manual start if there's no keyhole? and no i also don't know how to hotwire the car  laugh.gif

gotta say i wish there's a way to tell if the battery needs replacing. with conventional cars i can tell when i start the engine.  hmm.gif
*
It's the same as normal car, if your engine doesn't crank, that's the first culprit.

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Jul 15 2016, 05:29 PM)
Since you are buying 2nd hand, there is no more warranty for some parts of the car if it is more than 3 years old. Though I am not sure which parts are covered with the 3-year warranty and what parts are covered under the 5-year warranty. Details are not clear on the type of parts/components covered under the 3 and 5-year warranties.
*
My SC told me anything related to engine and gearbox problem.

QUOTE(JackXxX @ Jul 15 2016, 05:30 PM)
Thanks for your opinion.  I'll just follow the normal service schedule then.
*
Of course SC will recommend you to change now, but technically it will not be a problem as those oils can last longer than exactly 60k.

When did you buy your car?

Not getting a second hand car. My queries was more towards I will be buying a Preve in 2016, Preve being a 2012 design, a 2012 model, would it have any effect towards my purchase?

Thanks.
*
Nope, what Preve has is still being offered in newly released cars. In fact, Preve was the catalyst that made other manufacturers to equip their cars with most of the new features.

On the meter console, if the battery is failing, there will be a Battery indication whilst in "ignition" (second press of the START/STOP button without stepping the brake pedal) mode.  However, take this into consideration only if it appears repeatedly.  Otherwise, it could just be a false alarm at other times.
*
Not really, I think the wiring relay has got to be poorly designed, because my 'battery low' status had been showing for more than a year before it really went off laugh.gif

Can ask where to buy good quality and bright headlight bulbs in KV? The OEM ones can't last more than one year it seems.

Lots being sold online locally. Recommended to buy Philips as the bulbs come with serial number that you can check online for its authenticity.

I need an advice on how to actually drive a Preve Turbo uphill and downhill. E.g., when driving on LPT 1 Bukit Tinggi from Kuantan-KL (downhill), I can hear my engine sound vroooooooommmm and the rpm reaches >3500 (not accelerate). Should I just press the brake continuously? So scary
And when uphill, I have to press the pedal until it vroooooooooommmm and rpm reaches >3500

And how to use Gear S?
hehe

Got another question:
How come my fc still 10.4-10.8L/100km?
11000 Km already.
makan minyak kuat sungguh ini turbo

*
Err, that spike in RPM when downhill is engine braking. It's a feature, not a problem, it is similar to using low gear with clutch adaptation in high speed.

When going uphill, just press the paddle consistently and not suddenly. This is all CVT characteristic, the power spooling is not immediate but after build up. Remember that CVT is not AT.

FC is all dependent on your driving profile. FC gets better after services and periodical break-in, but if driving 110kmh or more consistently, it wouldn't help even.

similar here, just that i accept instead of argue, bcoz i am too tired. I also really doubt on "Engine Tuning" RM50. And i am using semi 800 EO, and they keep say it is for 5k service internal. I am seriously consider to change to other SC since seri kembangan is far for me.
*
Well, semi is recommended for 5k usage, but in actuality it can last as long as 10k mileage like fully.

I've heard so many bad reviews about this fruity SC, better go to other SC. Sometimes, a low profile SC provides better service.

thank you for the info. but errr... won't the engine burn more fuel if it left for a period of time in idle?
*
Don't worry about it, all (proper) turbo cars are fitted with intercooler and will help with oil cooling. If the oil is still hot when you switch off the engine, the fan will spin (on battery power) for about 1-2 minutes to bring the temperature to the self-manageable level.

Drive both to know. You'll find the turbo extra power really useful.

QUOTE(maxizanc @ Jul 22 2016, 08:21 AM)
my personal opinion, get the non turbo.

less headache, less maintenance bill i think.

Does not differ much, maintenance cost is significantly higher during major service only.

2. When the aircond compressor kicked in, there is slight loss of power like headlamp abit dimmed and acceleration abit jerking. Anyone experience this. If yes, what did you do?
*
Never had any problem with jerking car.

Light dimming when the aircond kicks in is a normal thing, but it will be bright back in a few seconds. This is observable in other cars.
