Just wana tumpang here, where can I get the 'BEST' guitar string? Because my bf guitar strings broken out as he was not using it since last year. He went to UK to continue his lesson. So, I would like to buy the guitar string and help him to fix the guitar back. Anyway, its a santa cruz guitar.

This is no "best" string..... what kind of player is he? And is this for an Acoustic or an Electric? There are so many variables.... too many to list down.

Back to the guitar pickups..... would suggest something Bright for the Les Paul special.... maybe Seymour live wires or something like that.

He is having a bachelor in music producing. Its a semi-acoustic guitar ( if I am not mistaken ). Which string brand should I go for and please guide on the pricing. Last time I used to help him to replace the broken string but though the owner of the shop claimed its a good quality one, the string got rusty very fast.

If he's a music student, then he should know what string HE likes. Again, strings are very subjective to the playing style and user's preference.

Case in point, my GHS Zakk Wylde Boomers. To me, I find this the best string for my guitar because the thickness adds to the tone. But some people finds the string too thick and actually hinders their playing.

He is in US now and will be back but not so soon. I did not tell him that the string has broken.

You can try Dean Markley Blue Steel or D'Addario Bronze or Phosphor Bronze (depending on how heavy he likes the gauge).

But its still really a preference thing, so he might like them or not. But if you're looking for a starting point, those are pretty much highly regarded and used.

Hope this helps.

He is an intermediate player I guest. The best song I heard him playing with his this Santa Cruz guitar was a country song..forgot the name..should be Missisipi girl.

I think if it's a semi-acoustic. I assume it's an acoustic with a pickup.....
For me, I would recommend Ernie Ball's acoustic slinky. Some people dislike the Slinkies, but I find 'em great for beginners because of it's "slinkiness"

Where can I get those strings that you mentioned? And will the salesperson helps me to install the whole set of strings? Because I dunno how to do it.

Strings being stell will rust no matter what, usually within three days due to exposure to moisture. Even the best of strings do that eventually. Just buy strings around the range of RM20 to RM30++ and they should be pretty decent.

After all, there are only like 4 strings manufacturer in the world. Most of the strings came from these same four factories.

RM20-RM30+ hmm....by the way, though you said there's only 4 strings manufacturers but the thing is there's a lots of things come from China, same applies to guitar string.

I need to finalize by this friday. I hope I could buy it at Rhapsody at Midvalley or the guitar shop at the floor same with GSC.

Please advise on the place to buy, which brand to buy and how much the budget. Thanks!
