winterburn + keown + adams + dixon = old school
eboue + toure + senderos + flamini = new boy

old school conceded 13 goals in 38 league games.
new boy kept 10 consecutive clean sheet in Champions League ( including 2 games against Real & 2 games against Juventus )

QUOTE(sheng @ Nov 13 2006, 02:14 AM)
why suddenly name the whole back four? isn't this thread talking about 'pairs'?
first that comes to mind is definitely andy cole-dwight yorke..
rebrov-shevchenko in kiev was good too.
and scholes-keano..the best midfield combo ever

Cos this partnership of back four accomplished the magnificent record as a unit.
Without anyone of them, the power of the unit deminished significantly.
