QUOTE(biloxee @ Aug 1 2015, 09:29 PM) I dunno. You got latest drivers for your wifi? Check device manager...yours got something like this? [attachmentid=4680399] Not check yet but this what i got just now Dont know if only at night i will get this speed. No test done this morning so i cant say.. Can my speed be disturbed by neighbour unifi? My early deduction is at night less neighbour using their unifis Haiz now knowing this stock router can actually give me my speed, i dont know if it still worth to invest in new router...

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Aug 2 2015, 05:08 PM) kazekage_09Get your Unifi ID and password from CS. Do not clone MAC address. Up to you. If your location is not congested, 2.4Ghz is good enough. Thanks!! QUOTE(gyver @ Aug 2 2015, 10:50 PM) Depending on the clients you are expecting connecting to the Wifi AP. If your PC or laptop support AC, then it is better to select 5Ghz. You can set both if unsure. Source: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-499.htmlThanks!!! Here is my result using TL-WDR4300 Tested using laptop with wifi. Got only 1 times 18mbps but others seem good. My wireless is Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1030. Tested also using smartphone and results are good. But why my smartphone can detect both 2.4GHz and 5GHz but my laptop only 2.4GHz?

What is ap? What advantage it gives compared to using direct connection between modem--> router --> pc/laptop/smartphone ?

QUOTE(GreenSamurai @ Aug 5 2015, 06:15 PM) AP stands for access point. It's basically a router that transmit wifi signals from the main router. It is used to expand the wifi range. Example, Point A is the router while Point B is your room. The wifi signal can't reach your room as it only reaches the middle point between point a and b. You can't move your room or the router right? What you can do now is to turn your unused router sitting in the storeroom and turn it into an AP, connect it to the main router and put it in the middle point and voila your room has wifi signal now. I see. Thank you for your explanation. So i guest i dont need it now since so far so good for me.

After a week using my new router , TP Link WDR4300 - wifi speedtest using smartphone (using 5Ghz frequency) will get me >30mbps all the times. while using my laptop (using 2.4Ghz frequency) will get me around 15-30 mbps. Problem is I download things using laptop not smartphone How to make my laptop to get stable 30mbps wireless speed? Current wireless device is built-in my laptop I guess. It cant detect 5Ghz...Will getting external dual band wireless device solve the problem?

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Aug 9 2015, 01:04 PM) A dual band USB wireless adapter will do. QUOTE(acapniamaxtor @ Aug 9 2015, 01:14 PM) Hope this could help (on VIP 10) Router(tplink wdr 4300) + Network card (TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBps Wireless N Dual Band PCIE ) Thank you!! why it happen? is it because of too many interferences on 2.4Ghz? Many people use same frequency ? My house is landed bungalow so logically 2.4Ghz would suffice isnt?

Astro called me. Explained that now TM and astro already collaborating or something.
Offer me Astro Iptv with no charges for installation and setting.
Benefit that i will get, rebate rm25 for astro bills every months, no more signal problem when raining, free all hd channel for 3 months and free new router and new decoder.
Lol. What you guys think. Should I take it? What im afraid is the router they will give is a crap one. I already bought my own router thanks to the crap stock router provided by tm.
If I agree they will send 2 tech, one from tm and one from astro..

Eh new term i heard here. What is wireless usb? Sorry noobie here lol.
Btw for those having problem not getting 30mbps wifi speed after upgrade, i also experienced the same.
Getting crap speed with crap stock router. After recommendation by blacktubi, i changed to tp link wdr4300 and walla...so far satisfied. My only complain is not stable using 2.4Ghz although there are only about 4 neighbour's wifi that detectable from my house. 5Hhz, no problem at all.
