I have this .avi movie and i burned into CD but could not be played in my Pioneer Player.

The resolution is 592 x 384 and I have confirmed other movies with such a resolution can be played in my Pioneer.

When I used GSpot to understand the VIDEO format of this file and it says

Codec: H264/x264
Name: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC

See the ppt page 1

If I click the properties of this .avi file, it says the VIDEO compression is of FFDS. See ppt page 2.

Does it mean my pioneer 383 k can't support this particular file?

If answer is yes, how and what software shall I use to convert this file into something that I can watch via my Pioneer? Thanks

Check your manual which codec supported. I believe only DivX supported. XviD and other (like H264) may not supported.

FFDS maybe short for ffdshow (did you install it in your system ?).

To make it playable in your Pioneer, you need to encode it. But, I'm not sure H264 can be changed into DivX using 4CC changer. If can, you save lot of time encoding H264 to DivX.
