Went to Eco Majestic and did a test flight today and uploaded to youtube, did colour correction and adjusted colour curve in Sony Vegas Pro.

Nicely done, uraki! There's this miniature feel to the scale of things. Have you tried Course Lock under IOC (Intelligent Orientation Control)? Less worry on the flight path and more focus on the framing of your shot.

I'm also a Vegas user! hehe
*
Yet to try the IOC, still learning the controls as this is my first cam drone.
I'm still a newbie in video editing, do teach me some tips sifu tongue.gif

Just wondering, is there a meetup or community gathering for the Phantom or similar drones? Thinking of seeing it in action smile.gif

The DJI New Pilot Experience event will be held in KL on 2015.09.26, participants will get the chance to fly a phantom with guidance of an instructor.
Check this link for more info.

new ui and pilot flight record is in the same page of camera view home page.. take me quite sometime to find it sweat.gif last time it was on the pilot profile page..
place is to be disclose later.. would like to join if I'm available..

tips of the day:

new pilot can use the Flight simulator provided within the apps to familiarise with the control. To access the simulator, connect your aircraft (preferably without the props) and tap the ? icon is on top right.
*
Only revamp UI? No new features? Kinda disappointing.

The flight simulator on DJI Pilot is only available on IOS version, android version does not have it....
Hopefully DJI GO's flight simulator will be available on both OS.

What's new:

1. Brand new UI
2. Record and upload aerial videos, and sync them to your mobile device in real-time
3. Upload of your artwork in one click. Access and share them anytime
4. Single videos can also be shared and there are more video templates to choose from
5. New photo editing features including color adjustments, cropping, watermarks and filters
6. New ‘Explore’ page which let’s you interact with other aerial photographers and learn about DJI’s latest news;
7. Added DJI BBS to allow you to share ideas with others
8. Support for the M100 Onboard SDK activation;
9. Bugs fixes for improved stability

from now onwards remote control can be updated using the apps

android version coming soon and hope they will include the simulator as well.. thumbup.gif
*
Not bad, but most of the new features does not help in piloting or taking video/photo.
I hope they will add the option to allow manually changing the camera aperture soon.

Wow, DJI probably hit a home run with this one. 800 usd only?
and it looks like we're gonna get all the extra goodies like followme, waypoints, etc. noiceeee

The standard version does not have light bridge, glonass, or VPS.
But the price is very tempting, other high end consumer drones will be very hard to compete.

I'm super happy that DJI finally includes POI, follow me and waypoints in next firmware update.
I was looking for a good 3rd party apps to enable these features, now no more headache. thumbup.gif

May I know did you shoot in LOG-mode? What's your setting for sharpness, saturation and contrast?

Thanks! yeah shot on log mode at 4k. -1 sharpness, saturation and contrast at 0

Thanks for the input.
I was too lazy to shoot in log cause I know that will need more editing, but seeing your cinematic shots makes me wanna learn more on video post processing. tongue.gif

Hi guys, did any of you face problems when importing dji phantom drones into Malaysia?

Currently I'm facing issue on my drone ordered via DJI website, the DHL person told me my drone is being withheld by custom as they need AP permit before releasing the drone.

Do I really need a permit? I know we have to register with DCA, but importing drone requires AP permit especially for dji phantom 3?
*
Interesting case, I thought since DJI website allow shipping to Malaysia, supposedly won't have these issues.
May I know how may drones are you ordering from DJI?

Thinking of getting the dji phantom advanced 3... Buy it direct from dji or local distributor?

Better wait for khtan2000 feedback on his purchase from DJI website, he mentioned DHL asked him to get a SIRIM permit.

I would suggest all to view this vid, on what to do if the winds becomes strong and taking our drone away from us.

Do take note some ppl commented that in such cases, first thing to do is lower the attitude and manually fly the drone back, because winds normally not as strong at lower altitude.

Secondly, do not use RTH to fight strong winds as RTH has speed limit and high limit, change to atti mode and full throttle would be a better option.
