QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 2 2016, 12:22 AM) i keep telling myself never hold overnight, yet i do sometimes - that's the danger... but not holding overnight is also very difficult to play, because it opens with big gap. Unless we play options to increase the multiplier even more, otherwise hard to earn money, paying too much on fees. entered earlier at 275, will get out later. crude is weak today, no chance for rebound. QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 2 2016, 12:34 AM) it can gap up or gap down... ya, it's what i did: buying large enough quantity to minimize the percentage of cost. That's why i loss huge when overnight and seeing large gap on unfavorable direction. these 3x things, should do day trades like recommended. brokerage fees - that's a diff issue but is a real cost. can only the next best thing - buy at qty that is min brokerage so as not to lose even more. agree, should stay day trade for 3x, it's too high risk to overnight. |

QUOTE(win44 @ Feb 2 2016, 04:06 PM) http://www.zacks.com/stock/news/99558/4-wa...t-oil-with-etfs Thanks! PowerShares DB Crude Oil Short ETN (SZO) This is arguably the least risky of the bunch, offering investors -1x short exposure to WTI crude. The ETN is rebalanced on a monthly basis though, so decay rebalancing issues are minimized, while it also adds in the yield from short-term T-bills as well (read Three ETFs for the Unconventional Oil Revolution). The product charges investors 75 basis points a year for exposure, making it a relatively cheap choice in the inverse ETF market. SZO doesn’t have that much volume though, so bid ask spreads might be a little wide in this fund. - See more at: http://www.zacks.com/stock/news/99558/4-wa...h.g7Fijq2g.dpuf Low volume is a risk to be considered for this one then. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 4 2016, 02:23 AM) the way it was said... looking at short term oil chart (2 months), i think i see bullish sign.... despite the buildup in oil inventories, the soft mfg data had the market seeing a reduced chance of a fed rate hike in 2016 as reflected in fed funds rate. the usd dropped 1.8% against eruo at one stage, so crude price went up. looking at the usd/euro chart and crude price, yes, strong correlation in the last few hours. question is how much more effect will there be in the next few days...? anyway, i'm prepared to cut loss in the next hour. looking at loss of 10% or so... |

QUOTE(mikehwy @ Feb 4 2016, 10:29 PM) crude shooting up, fast n furious! unbelievable !!! ya, crude is damn dangerous to trade recently. It moves so fast. i am dead. still holding at relatively high cost. may need to average down. damn crude! i think it's a bad idea to have the thinking of "average down" or even "average up". I think the fundamental thinking should be, right now, at this moment, will I buy (or sell)? Not putting what stocks we already holding at the moment for consideration. try to stay calm. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 5 2016, 12:45 AM) i never know how cimb based on to determine the trading limit, i just always found my trading limit is so damn high!remember i lost 3.5 iphones trading dwti last week? that was exactly the outcome of this very high trading limit! I don't have that cash to pick up the shares, therefore i must sell them on T+3 no matter what price they were at. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 5 2016, 03:02 AM) very hard to play. i did it, i stopped playing oil after losing that 3.5 iphones. i got in/out fast uwti in 202, out 210. now it's 197. think better stay away from these explosive stuff for a while... go back to normal ones... i went back to fundamental long term play and bought apple instead. eyeing brk-b as well, but i want much lower price....looking at 111. |
