I think it made quite an impressive entry with Dow -450 pts at open.

Even papa bear also must cover a bit to make sure he can reshort again, right?  biggrin.gif

There is a gap to fill now. The bull machines love to fill those gap.
I think it should be positive (green) but no higher than last Thursday high unless all these China PMI fear actually meant nothing.

Suprisingly, the oil market didn't lose much..
*
China PMI only contributes about 33% of China's GDP, while service sector contributes 50% of GDP. This thinking has aged, but "experts" still stubbornly attached to it. biggrin.gif

The relationship between Iran and Saudi turns bad doesn't mean oil production will reduce, the bet on serious war to cut production is quite fragile. In fact, I think this can remove the "talk" and therefore even increase oil production (especially on Iran). So it's kind of a neutral for oil (before war starts). laugh.gif

this is the latest i noted on the subject:

Surveys of US drillers revealed that the most efficient US drilling points could sustain production at prices as low as $30. Iran also recently remarked that production is still possible at $30 price.

petronas breakeven said to be 45. sweat.gif
the oil price story is such complex one that everyday, some expert says something interesting. laugh.gif

latest is "currency wars" being a factor.

Chinese regulator suspends circuit breakers
The Dow Jones industrial average fell more than 300 points in opening trade Thursday but regained half of those losses after China's announcement.

why suspends circuit breakers is a bullish news? I don't get it. ohmy.gif

the chinese gomen is losing direction, or not haaving enuff knowledge to the markets, or are too cunning to trick punters. new rules r implemented in ad  hoc manners. these will only give more fear to the markets. wonder what else will they implement tomorrow, as another round of fierce selling is expected at open??? !!!

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Jan 8 2016, 02:20 AM)
It's really difficult to predict China stock market since it is diverging away from the real economy.
A "slow down" in growth (not negative here) generated a lot of uncertainties in their financial market.
The indecision by CSRC for their on/off circuit breakers just added more fears. Furthermore, their inclusion by IMF for reserve currency also big mistake..  they manipulated their currency by devaluing it even more just because they want to prop up their market.  shakehead.gif
*
The china government has been too used to manipulate just everything, the law, the news, the currency, the balance sheet, so of course, they also want to manipulate the stock market. This bad behavior takes a long time to adjust...if, they are willing to do so in the future. And now, investors realize more and more that words coming out from the government cannot be trusted. Just last year when they adjust the currency wall, they said it's just one time adjustment. Lies follow lies, that's the way they handle things in China. cool2.gif
