Don't worry lah. Your Ringgit today will stay the same, as long as you spend it in Malaysia.
Just ride it out... all this too will pass.

IMO, now it is not a good time for Ringgit to exchange to USD or SGD but great for USD/SGD to Ringgit.

Never felt things so cheap in JB - so far they haven't spike my fav Musang King fruit yet. Eat out also cheap..  biggrin.gif
*
Tq, Dan,..I'm afraid I have to agree with AV's opinion that the prices of things are noticeably rising. What worries me even further is tht after the prices of gods have risen, it will not drop back even after everything recovers. WE will be stuck with the inflation that was triggered earlier by other factors on the country, not by demand-pull !

CHaging back my USD/SGD into Ringgit,... would you do so to invest into ASX funds in Msia ?

it's quite incredible that crude gained 22% within 3 trading days!

everyone is probably shocked and confused. biggrin.gif

opec and others... won't be easy to come to an agreed production cut.

but hv no idea what the hedge funds are doing now... going long long?

just too much risk to long or short oil and energy now.

still, can't see it going past 49 so easily...

The reports and the theory that Saudi Araba is feeling the pain now is taking shape. Saudi Arabia has strong influence in OPEC. Now OPEC is ready to talk about getting oil price to a 'proper' level, probably initiated by the Saudis.

sure they are losing sleep now.

probably finally realized triple combo of us shale, china weakness and iran coming onstream can brankrupt them bringing political troubles.

throughout history, oil has seen very violent swings with opec grip on oil price loose.

nothing is certain except uncertainty and continued volatility!
*
I hav confidence that if the Saiudis are wiling to sit down and talk since they have their backs against the wall, the volatility will slow down. IT's always the Saudis stirring=up the mess here in the oil mkts.

Perhaps I'll start to TT my SG dividends to North Americe and start averaging down in my oil counters. Good timing too lar,... since ASX 'does not want' me, sad.gif .. I'll go to NA rolleyes.gif

My oil ctr has dropped by 80% but it is still paying out its monthly dividends. It has recently purchased another oil asset sold at a reasonably cheap price, hence adding to its bbls/day figure. It still has available bank facility for further acquisitions. I wonder how this ctr of mine will turn out later on.

Start falling...anyway,don't rule out 47.6 max.(upper channel of right shoulder).

The final rise can also be interpreted as Wave 5 of an Elliot Wave config, then the next drop is Wave 1 of another Elliot Wave config after the turning point of Wave 5.

If we combine in the fundamentals to the TA, the above 2 Elliot Waves existing 'side-by-side' are more likely !

Hi Mike,.. howdy,.. why are the Singaporeans accumulating the RM ? Are they thinking that this is a good price to buy the RM and that the RM will strengthen in future ? It is good to know how others are perceiving and thinking about this,....

Another way to look at it is : things are jittery now.

If the Fed hikes on Sep 17, things will change,... perhaps into a more stable and predictable mkt ?

If no hike, then things will continue to be jittery, as it is now... So, 'no change from now if no hike',... we continue to behave as we are now.

I need to move myself out of all this noise, and position myself to any one of the following eventualities :-

1) Fed hikes on Friday morning.

2) Fed does not hike on Friday morning, but hikes in October.

3) Fed does not hike on Friday morning, nor in October, but hikes around Christmas 2015.

But I have a stable opinion that the hike will only be of 25 bps for the first round. Subsequently, very hard to tell.

I thnk 'no hike' too for Friday morning, unless another number comes out that 'supersedes the impact of the inflation number to the Feds', for which I do not think there is any, anymore. It's just another two working days to ann't day....

hike or not, doesn't matter. really. economy numbers are more essential.
*
On the contrary, I would think the knee-jerk reaction from the actual hike is MORE IMPORTANT than whatever data available out there. If we wish to take advantage of this knee-jerk reaction, than we must be prepared for it with our 'warchest' ready.

But of course, the opposite can happen too with a hike.

After the knee-jerk reaction, the mkt will slowly stabilise as the dust settles, and that's when the economic numbers comes into play again.

The actual hike is impt - depending on your view abt WHAT WILL ACTUALLY HAPPEN UPON THE OFFICIAL NEWS OF A HIKE, we should prepare ourselves with our bullets. I don't know how long will the window be available for us to take action before the dust settles fully, but I think we need to be fast.

Sound like how rates will move higher is actually far more important than when they move higher. tongue.gif

NO,.. they will not dare to move too much,.. that's for sure !!! They will move up gradually. SO : when they move is actually more impt for us to take advantage of the move.
