QUOTE(wKkaY @ Jul 14 2015, 11:54 AM) Yeah I use a red filter, to me it's the second most important thing for getting vibrant punchy colors with the GP... the most important being shallow water. wow thanks sifu for the sample picture for with/without red filter, now i really get to understand clearly. My settings are 2.7K / 30fps / wide or medium FOV / Protune / Cam Raw WB. I'm still trying different editors, but so far I like GoPro Studio the most because it is simple. The settings of yours above is the setting in go pro? Can I know what red filter u using or where u got it? I bought one but it seems too thick until all the picture & video i took is in red color... |

Hi guys, pardon me if the question that I'm gonna ask is quite out of topic.
I'd like to ask abt this volunteer project, Help Our Penyu (HOPE) http://www.grassrootsjourneys.com/explore/...help-our-penyu/ is this a "valid" project? I need to pay around 1.2k for two weeks of this volunteer project. |

QUOTE(N0eL @ Jul 13 2015, 06:06 PM) Some BCD inflator hoses are made from elastomer. D4i NOVO strap is elastomer too. The older version of suunto dive watches are made of rubber and they break in just 2-3 years. Easier if they do not come in contact with water for a long duration. i m tapao D6i ... reason because of compass and gas switching during dive ... d4i cannot switch gases...When the NOVO came around, they changed the strap from rubber to elastomer which is said to have a higher tolerance of breakage. My Old D4i rubber strap failed me after 3 years of usage during my recent dive at sipadan and I replaced it with the new NOVO elastomer strap. It looks sturdier and feels slicker in comparison to the old rubber strap. If you are planning to use it during IDC and for teaching purposes, i would suggest you get D4i NOVO. Better use dive gears that are similar/closer specification to rental gears so u can relate it to your teaching and demonstration during courses. |

QUOTE(heavensea @ Jul 14 2015, 02:34 PM) Hi guys, pardon me if the question that I'm gonna ask is quite out of topic. I'm not quite sure bout this volunteer group but I can suggest you to another group and I knew them quite well. Most active 'volunteer' group in Perhentian. They are the Ecoteer Team, you can google them out and they've started this https://www.facebook.com/perhentianturtleproject Most of the dive centre are affiliated with them, including my shop. I'd like to ask abt this volunteer project, Help Our Penyu (HOPE) http://www.grassrootsjourneys.com/explore/...help-our-penyu/ is this a "valid" project? I need to pay around 1.2k for two weeks of this volunteer project. Eh, V6 already? |

QUOTE(heavensea @ Jul 14 2015, 03:34 PM) Hi guys, pardon me if the question that I'm gonna ask is quite out of topic. Hi heavensea,I'd like to ask abt this volunteer project, Help Our Penyu (HOPE) http://www.grassrootsjourneys.com/explore/...help-our-penyu/ is this a "valid" project? I need to pay around 1.2k for two weeks of this volunteer project. I have no personal experience with Hope. Are u referring to their project at perhentian bubble dive resort? I visited bubble dive resort 2 yr ago, they r a eco aware resort and run a turtle awareness or conservation program. Personal observation, Its a well run program with the knowledge n right attitude then. But 50-100 nestings a season, kinda low if I recall rightly... Bubble Dive Resort Conservation I attended another conservation at madaerah terengganu by WWF and also visited Juara Tioman turtle camp.. Neither worth mentioning further ... Seatru conservation program by UMT, I attended this program twice. 8 volunteers per week for Rm700 now, with 2-3 research assistants on site at their designated Chagar Hutan beach, Redang island. No hotel here, light off after dinner... 2 wooden buildings houses the male n female sleeping areas, kitchen n makan area, lepak n knowledge area but we were normally slept on the beach with canvas n sleeping bags under the stars filled sky n natural music by wave... Volunteers... 1. Daytime, Patrol the 500m beach, prevent predator eg, monitor lizard stealing telor 2. Late afternoon, migrate Nesting in high risk zone, dig n throw away left over shell by baby turtle..... 3. After dinner, walk the private beach for visiting mama turtle, assist research assistant for required data, Eg, time the mama lands, sand bath, egg.... Touching the mama for measurement, shake hands with her for tagging.... Seatru @ Chagar Hutan 30-60 nestings a week roughly from may to Aug. There is another program at melaka which I know too little.. Google.. Turtle island at Sandakan Sabah, manages by Sabah Park has 30-50 nestings a night but we can visit as tourists only, not sure if there s any volunteer program now... Used to b rm5-10 per entry but was privatised.... After a turtle program, we must agree Female is Hot! |

During MIDE would be cheaper but if got other fairs also it should be cheap. Not sure if there is a camera fair. |
