*
cb already revised to rm50 max per month, translates to rm833.33 spending.

sorry but what is pledging FD?
*
put money into FD (fixed deposit) and used as collateral ("pledging") to apply credit card.

this method is not recommended:

1) you need substantial amount of money for FD placement, usually min RM10k
2) e.g. RM10k FD cannot be used in case of emergency.
3) remove the FD, card is canceled.

Do I entitle for the cash rebate if i use CIMB Cash Rebate mastercard to pay for my phone bill online every month. Entitle for the 5% online cb or the 2% mobile cb ???

Or 2% cb mobile only applies if i do standing instruction only?
*
2% mobile cb with SI only. 5% online cb excluding mobile bill payments.

unless u are eligible for PBB VS, that's the best you can do, for the time being.

if you're willing to wait a bit longer, wait for forumers to feedback on UOB YOLO card. we're still waiting for the jackpot answer whether uobpayonline is tagged as "online" category under YOLO.

downside for YOLO is to use at least RM800 to hit the RM50 cb tier.

Good day ladies & gentlemen,

Any advice to optimize cash backs & cards offering 0% balance transfer?

My data for consideration of the above:
1. Annual Income: paiseh to share exact, just enough to get Visa Signature / Visa Infinite / etc. but cut-up/rejected i hardly use those facilities

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes please - even if not auto waive, call to waive like Citi is ok

3. Cards required for:
Major monthly expenses, in sequence of high-to-low total average monthly, charged to cards are:
a. Tesco & Giant groceries
b. Online shopping (mainly Tesco again)
c. Insurances
d. Mobile telecommunication bills
e. Utilities - TNB, TM/UNIFI, IWK, etc
f. Petrol

4. Existing credit cards if any:
a. MBB DuaCard: Amex + Visa - mainly earlier for the weekend cash back, now zzz

b. Citi Cashback - 2% groceries + mobile telcos EXCEPT Celcom (Citi killed cash back for Celcom payments a few months back)

c. PB Visa Signature - online spending 6%, groceries (miserably up to total RM60 cash back only)

d. CIMB Cashback - online spending 5% (miserably up to RM30 cash back only) + groceries 2%

5. Looking at CC from:
anything to optimize
a. insurance cash back (not the miserable 0.2%) or point to vouchers equivalent %
b. often offered 0% and >=12 months (lazy to track 3-6 months) balance transfers

6. Others:
no CCRIS issues + consistent / good repayer, thus getting a card isn't an issue.
just unsure what's good out there WITHOUT severe parameters like HLB's Wise or something - crazy, track how many transactions & must be more than $xx...
urgh
simplify + long term smile.gif

1) PBB VS cashback capped to RM50 liao. Option is to get supp card for PBB VS but MUST be separate statement. You'll get separate pool of cashback, apart from principal card. e.g. 1 principal + 1 supp = RM50 + RM50

2) Since most of your transactions can be done online, use PBB VS supp or can explore UOB YOLO (replacement for VOX). 6% online cashback with capped RM50 for spending RM800 above. It's almost same as PBB VS. Comes with AF, not sure if AF waiver is strict or lenient. this card is barely out since end Aug.

3) Insurance and others, can lump into Aeon credit cards, then pay thru POSonline using CIMB CR. effective cashback 2.88% (CIMB CR's 5% minus POSonline's 2.12% conveniene fee).

4) CIMB, get max 2 supp cards as well as it's on separate cashback pool also.

5) Dont see any 0% BT for more than 12 months. Currently MBB's having promo 0% BT for 12 months, 3% fee is waived (limited pool).

I keep this suggestion simple instead of many different cards smile.gif

Which card is suitable for utilities to replace my Wise card? Currently also have PB VS but using that mainly for groceries
*
post more info.

how much quota left in pbb vs?

why not get a pbb vs supp with separate statement? you'll get separate pool of quota.

there is the new UOB YOLO card, but yet to get confirmation if the behavior is same as UOB VOX.

what is your best credit card combination?

mine shown below:
PBB VS > Petrol and online (6%)
Lady's card (GF) > Groceries  (10%)
SC cash back > retail purchase (5%)
Ambank Infinite > PLL unlimited

cancelled Vox & Wise card.
*
PBB VS > Petrol and online (6%) hmm.gif

if want best combination, why not other cards for petrol? there's no benefit using pbb vs.

ge now has an online portal to make premium payment for customers?

all i know is they do have online portal, but only to review policy details and gst tax invoice download (for those who need to make claims).

other than that, nothing about premium payment though.

Wanna get recommendation on getting a cash back cc for petrol of between rm200 to rm450 a mth at any brand of petrol station and anywhere, cash back rate at least 5%

According to my research, Citibank platinum cash back card wud meet my needs but I nd to apply for support card as the petrol spending is at family level. I m ready to cancel the card if af is not waived for principal and supp card after a year of usage.

Reason for not getting maybank vs is to leave it for d next yr if I ever cancel Citibank platinum cb card. Another promo cc wud b aeon cc which offers 5% cb on petrol until 15 Nov 2016.

Not using scb just one plat bcoz effective rate is only 3.4%. Not interested in uob one card bcoz it is 2% weekday n 5% weekend.

Pls kindly confirm or advise a better cb cc for my petrol if members here have better suggestion that cn meet my requirements.

since you didnt specify preference to particular pump days, then...

MBB Ikhwan Mastercard @ 5% Fri/Sat
MBB Ikhwan Visa Petronas (effective 1 Nov, 8% on weekends at Petronas only. announcement here, full T&Cs not yet updated since mbb revised the features from 8X TP to 8% cashback)
