Save the money and get the 1070 bro...  Why spend the extra $220?  tongue.gif

At least you can OC the card to get closer to the 1080... whistling.gif

Thinking about it actually. Don't actually have the need for the 1080 asides from bragging rights laugh.gif

Doesn't have to be an office worker with high salary. Like goldfries said below, just earning a measly $24,000/annum and you can afford the GTX 1080 if you save up a little. Whereas here you have to save up for a long time before you can buy one with a RM2000 monthly salary laugh.gif

inb4 income tax. biggrin.gif

But in any case, let's just talk about RM 2k wage earner vs USD 2k wage earner. RM 2K you need to 1.5x to get a card while USD 2k you just need to allocate 1/4 of it and have change. biggrin.gif

Anyway, below is my speculation of the GTX 1080's performance, based on the chart available at GTX 1080 mini-site.

Yeah exactly. Let's say you save $250/month, you can afford a GTX 1080 in less than 3 months. Saving RM250/month and you have to save up for 12 months to buy one at the estimated RM3000 price. sweat.gif

Difference is, many don't have a 2k wage in the US. Most have a 1-1.5k wage on average. Why do you think so many students are already having debts up to their eyeballs before they even start working?

Also understand they have different tax rates on products in different states. You think macam GST 6% at every corner of the nation here?

Source: my wife lived in the US for 25 years, worked for 8 years.

If you're talking about minimum wage earners, then yeah. I'm pretty sure they aren't gonna rush out to buy the GTX 1080 or even the 1070 the moment it hits the shelves. However, I'm talking about graduates who are definitely earning more than that once they land a job. Heck, a friend of mine did not manage to complete school but is currently earning ~$50,000/year as a waitress. thumbup.gif

And yes, I do understand that they have different tax rates in different states. I studied and worked in the US too smile.gif
