Just got 2 of these new fangled GTX1080 thinggies and they've shipped out.
Knowing me they'll probably sit in their box for about a month as I have the attention span equivalent to that of a mayfly's life expectancy.
In my opinion FEs are the way to go because the standard board design will make tacking on watercooling or other extra bits all the much easier. Plus the standard board size makes putting it into different cases all the more predictable.
I'm just happy to see that ATi have chosen a different approach and gone for a more value orientated market offering instead of battling for the high end. They also have a leg up in the on die VRAM department which is critical for 4k gaming. It'll be interesting to see how the fight pans out.
