QUOTE(mhj @ Nov 15 2016, 01:46 PM)
Thinking of buying a VIOS J(A), used or new?

used 2014 RM55K or new RM70K (after rebate, discount and NCB).

My travelling mileage is less than 1000KM per month, so I don't save much from the new CVT and Dual VVTi, the proven 4AT is acceptable for me as compared to the unproven CVT. The only thing I like in the new VIOS is the VSC.

Your advice is most welcomed! Thanks.
*
My suggestion is to get the new CVT version. The combination of new engine (Dual vvti + CVT) makes difference to me.
55k vs 70k is not a lot. J spec has cash rebate up to 9k. The new vios come with 5 yrs warranty, securing you from paying for major parts, if necessary. Used vios, with mileage of 40k and above should be scheduled for major service and maintenance, especially for wear and tear parts.
The interest rate of new vios is about 2.7. My info for 2nd hand car loan interest could be up to 3.5
it is your decision.

Still a happy owner I must say and to quickly answer your questions.. I have completed the breaking in period and the car now is noticeably swifter. Over taking is fair and cruising on the highway is OK too.. Basically overall ok

Mind to share what is your mileage now?

Regarding the CVT vios FC, it was about 11km/l with mileage below 300km.
Most of the time city drive and waiting for half an hour and above with air-cond on.
After run in, the FC could be better.

get my vios yesterday...
hope the fuel consumption won't so terrifying~
*
First few tank of fuel cant be the reference. The new parts need to run in.
My first FC is about 11km/l- City drive 80%, waiting time more than hours with aircond on.
My second FC could be better, can observe from the fuel meter.

Bro, you get a g spec?
How's your review of the car ya?haha
*
E spec.
So far so good. I have both H.city and T.vios CVT at home.
In term of specs, H. city is winner.
However, the car is for driving not by just looking at horse-power and the number of USB and HDMI port u have in the car.
If you liked "softer" handling, "lighter" feel of steering, then City will be your choice.
T. vios CVT is more "solid" in term of handling. The acceleration will not give u immediate power but smooth increase of the speed. It is due to CVT and tuning. Personally i like Vios handling more than City. I like Vios CVT version the moment i tested drive the car after I have driven H.city for more than 2 weeks.

Build quality, seat comfortableness - i will go for Vios. Better seat quality as it is harder (my personal preference, some ppl like softer seat). Level of sound-proof is normal, not too bad. Driving at 140km/h (slightly more than 2000rpm) is smooth and stable. 1900rpm at 110-120km/h. One thing i dont like about the seat is "the dirt sticks quite easily".

Apparently the car still have lower arm issue. I have made a complain and UMW will get back to me soon. Heard the noise from front only during raining day, overhump. These two conditions must be there to give you this noise.

Not sure if it is isolated case. My H.city is red in color. The quality is not good. Polishing the car leaves some spots on the surface. No issue with Vios so far.
Space wise, City is definitely more spacious but space of Vios is surely sufficient to cover 5 average adults in car.

Speaker sound quality is above average, touch screen player is very responsive. Air-cond fan produces reasonable noise even at level 3 (4 is the max).
Front doors is heavy, rear doors are relatively lighter. I think the quality is acceptable.

My latest FC is 13.5km/l, mileage of less than 1k.

p/s:i just installed the anti-roll bar. It makes difference esp during cornering. More stable even with greater speed.

wow. yr fuel consumption is better than others. may I know yr city/highway ratio?
I just pumped the 1st full tank and now still above F level.. so no data yet icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Most of the time driving in taman with lots of over-hump, jam at traffic light junction etc. i would said 200km on smooth traffic and the rest under this kind of condition. I would assume most of the drivers in KL and Selangor sharing similar ratio of city/highway unless u travel using PLUS for outstation trip.
i re-fueled at 400+km, full tank at 30litre +.

I did ask the salesperson before about FC. He mentioned 12-13km if jalan taman most of the time, above 15km if highway.

The reverse camera is very useful for reversing out of parking slot when a SUV parks beside you.

Very true. I never appreciate reverse camera until i realize this. Previously i trust the side and rear mirrors, and the reverse sensor.

How long did u guy wait for the car? My SA said my car will be only arrive 4 Jan next year....total 3 weeks waiting period. I am frm pg and buy from umw Toyota jerutong...
It's it normal?
*
Two three weeks waiting period is normally especially during this promo period. Those who got their cars within a week or two could be the one who booked the vios during early stage of promotion.

I heard this year end promo is the greatest esp for toyota and honda compared to.previous years.

My latest FC is 16.2km/l (4 adults onboard). 50% highway. Mileage is 2000km.
I guess if 80% city drive (including jam and idle), the FC will drop to 12km/l (the lowest i ever achieved) or else it should be in average of 14+km/l.
