Thai demo slalom test Vios vs City, thought City would have won it lol
*
this surprised me... from my driving experience.... City feels much more subtle over Vios.

Yes, Vios don't have traction control at all.

Ok, thank you for clarify...  smile.gif
Just went to Toyota this morning, the sales assistant can't make it to meet me so he asked his colleague to look at my car to evaluate the price.
When I asked the guy some questions about Vios, he seems not knowledgeable because I think he is from technician department? He said I better ask sales person...  tongue.gif

By the way, rear seat 60/40 folding is quite useful to my usage, may I know if E variant have it and J variant confirmed don't?

Thank you!  notworthy.gif
*
car valuation managed by salesperson via used car dealer contact.

confirmed J don't have this 60/40 folding feature.

QUOTE(walkmanphone @ Sep 25 2015, 03:10 PM)
it could be because of the City weight distribution is not as even as Vios, I assume.
*
i believe City has stiffer suspension setup which i can really feel the significant difference upon crossing bumps.

not sure what type r u using

ours is 2xx
*
i haven't install anything yet... wish to install those with side mirror autofold, alarm buzzer and central locking upon pressing brake. But you're at Klang... sweat.gif

QUOTE(G K Lai @ Sep 26 2015, 02:10 AM)
RM2xx also reasonable as it has so many functions, and those functions are so worth the money.  rclxms.gif

agreed.

hi guyz i need help to chose lubrincant oil for toyota vios ... please help me i need affordable and specialise to clean engine.. suggest please
*
what by you mean "specialized to clean engine"?

is there something wrong with your engine?

Vios engine has been in the trade for 10+ years, hence any decent workshop knows the workaround.

as for lubricant, its really depends on your budget and requirement. for daily driving, semi-synth is more than enough at 5k interval change.

what?? u said 3 in 1 functioning for auto folding is suitable for J only? did u know J didn't have motor for folding the side mirror?  blink.gif
*
J is fully manual only then its advised to install this ma.

E and G has it built in, what for still install this.

i saw few J specs installed with this.

even my friend Axia G also installed it.

i see.. any brand suggestion?
*
it really depends on your preference and trial+error on which engine oil suits you.

at the moment, my Vios still maintained by SC, hence all follow their OEM recommendation.

As for my other ride, im using Total QUARTZ 7000 SN 10W40, and change at every 5k interval service.

QUOTE(lansi_raju @ Sep 28 2015, 03:07 PM)
any feedback on the mileage? full tank usually can go up to???
*
my current Vios per full tank of around 36L gives average 380km; equivalent to 10.5km/l.

i think the Eco light is just a freaking led light to trigger if you got accelerate hard or not... no genius invention here.

disabled it after i knew the way to turn if off. The blinking is annoying.

after disabled, i see no difference in performance and fc.

think again, Toyota never bang hard on this so called "ECO" mode at all. so, don't expect miracle from it.

any idea how much is toyota vios front brake pad ??

toyota charge me RM300+ for it  including labour
*
RM300+ is freaking expensive from SC....

just pad around RM90-140 only if buy from outside.

labour cost around RM30-50.

all in should be around RM200 only.

try to look around.

Anyone faced this problem before?

My car remote suddenly no response from car.. Even tried the second unit remote. Thought its battery Kong.. On car I mean.

Tried to start car.. No problem at all.. So battery is not the issue. Frequency match misaligned maybe?

Called SC, they will call m back to help troubleshoot.

Will update in due course.

Mine is G model. The keyless version. Few months back, I was unable to start my engine even when I pressed my start button a few times, until I placed my key next to it.  I thought it was battery issue, tried with second unit and had the same issue.
Mentioned to the SC , They said they couldn't tell me what caused the issue cannot be recreated so they reset and realigned the frequencies.

So far no issue.
*
hmm.. after 2 days, my alarm is OK now.

guess there's frequency jammer by some culprit in my area, planning to steal cars perhaps.

my neighbor Myvi and Kancil alarm also not working in the last few days.

already raise this issue to my neighbors to watch out.

hopefully no theft case...

The warranty I meant will Toyota void the warranty to other parts. Like Honda did to their customer, change rim void suspension. Install own player will void warranty in wiring.
*
if i change HU from G spec into J spec car??

Its a purely plug and play installation.

Hello, anyone here knew how can I fit a 5 lug rim to my NCP93? I'm still using the standard rim. Saw lot of people either tebuk or put spacer? I'm thinking of putting spacer but heard stories that it wobble. Any experience?

One more thing anyone knew where to replace the alarm? I think the original one is from Cobra/Meta, but been quoted very unreasonable price from the service center.
*
why u need to convert it to 5 lugs? mind to share?

Just that most of the rims that I like is all 5 lugs.
*
oic... guess it would be 16' and above rims then.

yeap. 5 lugs mainly for bigger car with bigger rims.

normally 1.8L and above cars have 5 lugs wheel setup.

thats why Vios is 4 only.

QUOTE(dlyz @ Dec 15 2015, 04:20 PM)
Hi guys, i booked and paid down payment for Vios J last week. This is my first new car i ever bought in my life. I have sat in previous Vios before so i did not even test drive 2015 Vios as the people around me are happy with their older cars and i tot they should ride similarly.

Going thru this thread, i feel scared. The problems mentioned here is it common for all Vios or certain units? eg engine got sound when pass bump.

SC is really expensive huh. I cant wait for warranty period to finish then i can bring the car to cheaper and more trusted regular mechanic outside.

I am an audio person so, i don't think im patient enough to wait 3 years to upgrade the sound system. If i change HU, add DSP, amps, change speaker, speaker cable and door sound absorbtion. Which warranty is voided? lolz
*
so far i've changed to G spec stock HU, and full car soundproof. no kacau on warranty yet.

as for DSP, Amps, speakers... not so sure... sweat.gif

QUOTE(dlyz @ Dec 17 2015, 10:10 AM)
Thanks guys. Yeah, i think i would wait a year to make sure all is working properly before i change anything. Coming from Atos (8-9km/Liter), i really hope Vios more fuel economical.

So after the first 2 service, i can find my regular mechanic without hurt the warranty? I have 2 regular mechanic, one of which handles a lot of supercars in my town.
*
my suggestion, go back to SC for service while still under the warranty period. else, they could argue on that point.

QUOTE(dlyz @ Dec 17 2015, 11:01 AM)
cry.gif Its better than Atos but not as good as i hoped. But i only drive about 100km per week (big town driving). I guess still ok. I feel silly for not doing more research before buy now. Just buy because many ppl around me have Vios and say its good and reliable.
*
8-9km/litre vs vios average around 12km/l is increased of 33% better FC; which is alot.

reliability is there, but with quite cheapo build quality.

150k life span but you need to buy their oil to service the air filter aka cleaning.

of course such aftermarket filter gives better flowthrough hence the snappier driving experience.

but do take note that air-fuel ratio is still based on the same factory setup... hence, the more air as input, the more fuel will be pump in to maintain the same ratio.

Would like to ask, when I press brake my meter will be deemed, if I don't press brake it would be normal. Or if I put signal and press brake, my meter will blink. May I know is the issue? Even foreman or accessories man couldn't rectify it. Dugong 08

sounds like weak battery to me.

or unstable electricity. stabilizer and grounding might help on this.
