That could be the reason. Try spiltting the folder into two. If cannot create a new folder and transfer everything there and rename it. Keep us posted what happened.

Yes, try to resize it by splitting the contents into two folder. If that doesn't work, create a new folder, copy the content from the previous folder to the new one. Rename the new folder to another (and maybe shorter) name. Example: your previous folder name is "My Great Pics" your new folder name it to "Pics". See what happens.

I do have problems with NTFS format. Mac can read it but not write it. I formatted all my external HD to FAT32 with size less than 30GB so that I can transfer my video files back and forth the pc and Mac.
