Lazada better wait for weekend night discount voucher or merdeka sale discount voucher, could save up to RM200

ABQ, 3L, and Miyamondo are bigger camera seller on lazada

Good idea!

wah not aware this new lens coming.. then i might as well wait for it instead of getting 20mm haha
*
QUOTE(BOTAK_WAI @ Aug 22 2015, 02:48 PM)
i would say 20mm better in term of size, price, focal length (balance for indoor and outdoor shooting)
*
True, a new 25/1.7 would probably cost an arm while the 20/1.7 can be easily gotten for well under 1k. The difference in focal length will determine what you will be able to shoot, a 25mm (equiv 50mm) vs the 20mm (40mm). The 20mm will be able to shoot in a tighter space than the 25mm but the 25mm should easily produce better bokeh(blur)theoretically, although that is still left to be seen in actual photos.

any lighting setup?
*
The girl's face appears to glow so I suspect there might be some form of lighting, since there's backlighting (see the hair on the left). Normally under this lighting condition the camera tends to under-expose the front, which will become dark if not compensated. Me like photo CSI edy ha ha cool2.gif

QUOTE(BOTAK_WAI @ Aug 24 2015, 12:16 PM)
I am interested to learn flash photography.

Any speedlite recommendation? No TTL needed, the cheaper the best. Looking on YongNuo 560 (v2?v3?v4?)
*
I am no expert flash user, but some of my best flash pictures comes with the use of TTL flashes. I have used strictly manual flashes from the old days on digital bodies, difficult to control the output. The best are still those native to the camera's makers, i.e. olympus use olympus flash and pana cam bodies use pana flashes. Personally I haven't tried yongnuo, but the 560 you mentioned, isn't that TTL flash too?

I sometime just uses simple generic flash unit that costs less than 100rm, but their functions are limited since no TTL, so the camera won't be able to directly auto adjust the flash output. For critical photo, TTL is still best. Sometimes I just bump up ISO to get better results with the onboard built-in flash, only if you have one on your cam body. That's why I always ensure I get a body with a flash unit, it's very handy sometimes, when you need it, like backlight shooting.

Maybe someone recommends a cheap Yongnuo for our m4/3 bodies?

Thanks for the commend. Actually I didn't use any flash during the shot, I just want to capture the hair light and I over expose the photo and just play with the highlight and contrast only in the Lightroom.

Later on I will post the whole album for you all to enjoy. Pity my em5 and my old laptop working so hard. tongue.gif

eh quick question.. i notice 20mm f1.7 got i and ii? what's the one in the market now or both also available?
*
The newer version ii is the same with version i except some cosmetic changes, no difference in performance between the two. I still prefer version i design-wise, it looked better to me. The version ii has taken the design of the 12-32, they look similar.

here they are:

My friend said Panasonic has discontinued gm5. How could it be? sad.gif Should I buy from lazada or other source?
*
Oops!

Might as well you get it from Shashinki or Lazada, yes why not? ABQ in Lazada is reputable, as pointed out earlier by BOTAK_WAI. The other one is miyamondo.

ABQ or Miyamondo should be selling local sets, they even offer C.O.D., not sure about other sellers though. And if you buy through the Lazada app, there's a further discount of RM30 given.

Yup, you can't rush this lens but it will reward you with some very fine photos if your patient. I have been using the 20mm since I first had it with the Ep1 in 2009 (?) I think.

Pana 20mm 1.7 vs Sigma 19mm 2.8. Performance & sharpness, which is better?
*
Pana 20mm beats the 19mm every aspect of the game, almost, except the AF speed, if your after this. Otherwise, 20mm a clear winner. I will still go for the 20mm anyday. BOTAK_WAI got it right when he said the 19mm is out cold, coz it's knocked off by the 20/1.7! thumbup.gif However, if you haven't had 20mm yet and you come across a cheap Sigma 19mm, go for it.

20mm really that slow ah? Thinking to buy gm5directly from Miyanmondo at pyramid this weekend but not sure if they have ready stock.
*
If paired with pana bodies, the 20mm seems to be faster. So I still say go for it.

Bro, THX for the video!

Unbelievable how the dual IS perform, looks like it beats the Oly's 5-axis at the Tele-end. This is really good news for birders and telephoto users. Just wow! That's huge. You will not be ashamed carrying the GX8 for birding, particularly if all your friends are carrying bazookas!

Wonder how soon Pana will delegate the dual IS for smaller body  biggrin.gif
*
Like on the GF series? I reckon that's gonna take sometime. I think it depends on how Successful the GX8 will be. I can foresee not too long from now, longer reach lenses from Pana or even Oly will come out. For now, the longest Tele from Pana is the 100-300 if I am not wrong.

Bro, the lens that was used in the IBIS shootout, seems to be a zoom lens right?

Good point!

You meant YL ? I had the impression their street price are quite good ( cant compare to Lazada those with random discount la ).
600mm ( in 35mm equi ) not long enough ah bro ?  laugh.gif
I'm more toward wanting them to improve on tele lens IQ, the oly 75 300 II that I had wasnt too impressive.
*
The longer the better bro, normally the longest end isn't usable as the optimum for IQ normally settled at up to 90% of the telephoto end, say 300mm x 90% =270mm (540mm in FF), so if we have a 400mm, thats 360mm equiv. to 720mm!! That's huge difference. You can shoot from a really safe / undisturbed location thumbup.gif

Edit: the Oly 75-300 II is the best at the moment among m4/3. Wait for the 100-400!
