Be a Pro mode is quite dissapointing for me. Was hoping that I could go through a whole season in that mode

So far, its quite easy to bang in the goals in Semi-Pro, but Pro is a different story.

Haha but I tried Be a Pro in Professional and I obtained some achievements for it , played Carlos Tevez and scored the only goal against Liverpool..haha..

So far, this game is living up to my expectations..

OK flew back last nite, reached home around 11.45 pm, after quick shower, loaded FIFA 08 as fast as a chicken high on Tabasco.

Initial impressions after 6 games (on Amatuer and Semi-Pro). I play as Man U on New Alternate config, Tele view, 6 mins halves, all on Assist except Through Pass which is on Manual (I know ... I'm a p u s s y).

First game on Amatuer against Liverpool. Liverpool's first attack and they scored a goal .... in the second minute. Liverpool were 2 up by the 6th minutes (in-game time, not real time). I'm thinking to myself ... shit this is going to be a loooong nite. Hahaha .... Anyway, 2 down and I finally settled down. Clawed back to 2-2 by full time, and went into extra time, no winners and then went into penalties and I won. The viewing angle for the penalty kicks is new and diff from FIFA07 and UCL. Great first game, I thought. Won the rest of the games on Amatuer and Semi-Pro against Chelsea, Arsenal, etc. except the final game which I gave away a penalty on the 90th minute.

Initial impressions. The response time is improved from the demo (which was my main bane). However, ball still gets intercepted too often to my liking for mid to long passes. Player doesn't come fwd to get the ball and just waits there. The pace of the game is really nice, slower than anything you've probably played in any footie game so far. So this is the first thing you really gotta get used to. If you plan to play hit and run, forget it. This game won't do it for you. Opponent AI seems intelligent enough to back-pedal when you push forward, and your AI team mates makes run to make space, which is nice as you can then thread a nice through ball when you see them make their run (LT to trigger). The LB button is going to be everyone's best friend - this is the button for slow dribble, jostle for position, defending with back to goal and TRICKS.

Dislikes - I cannot weight the lob passes and chip through-pass accurately (maybe need more time to estimate strength, but seems like press a little and the ball goes too far), I really hate the double-tap crosses .... press a little bit also the ball gets crossed from one end to the other corner, goal kicks to the middle of the field now is a game of chance, cause it doesn't always go to your player (at least in UCL when the goalkeeper kicks your players run towards the ball and jostle for position, now they can be nowhere near the ball), the replays after you score a goal seem to be running at a jerky framerate.

Overall, after 6 games so far, I'm happy with it. Didn't have time to try Pro as it was already 3am by then. Also haven't tried online game. Man I can't wait for this weekend.

To an earlier question, from DjiNn I think, the online co-op is 5 vs 5 in Be A Pro mode, which is not found in the game as at now. It's supposed to come in an online patch update around Nov/Dec 07.

Achievement for getting >90 rating in Be A Pro mode.

yep tats the achievement. Must get the Amateur achievemtn too

Unlike other games, playing it on a more difficult setting doesnt unlock the rest haha..

argh this game is hard...but online matches are smooth

freaking hell... i thought why isit so hard to score, the setting is pro mode?? won by only 1 goal, changed to semi pro straight away scored 6.. lol...

not used to be-a-pro mode yet.. always concentrating on the player with the ball and not used to the camera angles
