Welcome to the 360 community, and in particular, to the FIFA07 addicts' corner. Glad u enjoy the game as much as we do.

Add me to your Friends list and we'll play online tonite. I play as Man U as well.

Btw, fellow football kakis, looks like UEFA Champions' League version still not out in the market yet. The stores here tell me it may only be out on March 23 instead of March 20 as earlier stated on Play-Asia.

Just spent close to 5 hours playing UEFA Champions' League last nite. Cannot put the controller down, literally. Quick 2 cents:

- gameplay : the pace of the game is really really nice now, not as arcade-ish as FIFA07 (where u can run from one end of the field to another like mating rabbits), running pace and ball pace is more realistic, and dare I say it, WE like.

- the controls are tighter than FIFA07, collision detection better (also no more crash test dummy effect), u can nudge opposing players in penalty box before heading in a goal (nice!), the "invisible wall" surrounding opposing players is much less which means u can get up closer to the player and steal balls. However, they've destroyed my through-pass chip as you now need to hold the button longer to get any real flight on the ball (supposedly pressure-sensitive?).

- Computer oppponent's AI dribbling is really too good now, very hard to steal ball, but that also means that we end up getting solo dribblers all the way from half-way line down to penalty box, which is crap really.

- on-field animation is improved, but faces and clothing is still crap (glowing face syndrome)

- replays after goal is scored is now just beautiful - u get 3 replays of the goal scored from different angles and very well done, almost Matrix-like.

- the real gem in the game is the Ultimate Team mode - I never expected I'd spend so much time in that mode, buying and trading cards to build my team from scratch with lowly players and work my way up to get the Golden Ticket to join the ultimate UEFA Champions' League. Consider this the Management-mode of the game, but done in a very unique and interesting trading-card style. Within the night, I ended up buying several top rated players online from the Trading Card Exchange, which cost me some $, but also sold some of my lowly players on the cheap. Then bought some Healing Cards to, what else, heal my star striker who would otherwise be out for the next 5 matches, then replaced my Manager for another who favours my 4-4-2 style, upgraded my Fitness Coach to some sexy blonde bombshell (!), bought some Coaching Cards to improve the stats of my team, extended the contract of my star striker, and lots more.

- I also put up some Cards of my own, and managed to sell off 2 cards for $150 (you price your cards on the Trading Card Exchange and hope that someone is interested in your offer). I still have 8 Cards on the Exchange, so hopefully when I go back tonight, they're all sold so I can get some $ back for my spendings last night.

- so far, my Ultimate Team, named TERRA FC, has climbed to Level 2 last nite, winning all 4 matches played so far. You need to bring your team to Level 5 and pass that before reaching the ultimate UEFA Champions' League championship.

- online mode is ok, no apparent lag. I say only ok because I only managed to play 2 games online yesterday as there wasn't many opponents online - it is obvious the crowd just isn't there yet as the game is still new. Or perhaps they are just too busy playing Ultimate Team mode. That explains how I'm ranked 44 in the world at the moment. Kakakaka ......

Bottomline, I would recommend this to anyone who loves FIFA07. This ups the ante.

Wassup guys! Great to see the fifa thread alive and kickin again! My xbox360 is still out with the 3ROD syndrome...sent it back to the store where I bought it after chinese new year. Two weeks later I called them and they said they misplaced by 360 and therefore cannot send to Singapore for repairs....they say to give them 1 week to find my machine...I call them two weeks later and say they found but yet to send to Singapore...damn I miss my fifa and reading terra's review of champions leagues makes me wanna go out and buy a new xbox...but Im torn between buying a new 360, ps3 or upgrade my PC to the new Core2 processors with Vista...sigh unfortunately I only got enough cash for one option....dont know which to choose...what u guys think..I may get my 360 back between 2-3 months..damn thats a long wait...

ok guys back to your FIFA!

Cheers!

@ zio - not real $. When u play games in any mode, you earn Credits (i.e. virtual $ in the game) depending on your performance in the game - the awarded credit depends on whether u win a game (u get credit even if you lose), the number of goals scored, the passing and shooting accuracy %, etc. and they deduct credits when u let in goals, make fouls, red cards, etc. So the more games u play (in any mode) and win, the more Credits you earn. Typically, a single game can earn u btwn 50-200 Credits. So after a few games, your Credits can total to more than 1,000, then u start spending to build your Ultimate Team.

@ loko - glad to see u around the thread still. Hard choice u have there, mate. Really your $, and what u want the device for, so nobody can tell u how to spend it. But my 2 cents since I have all 3 mediums - PS3 games really crappy right now, some don't even have online capabilities (e.g. Virtual Tennis 3), and games are expensive esp US versions (e.g. MotorStorm). Therefore, PS3 hasn't peaked as a gaming console. As a Blu-Ray movie player, then it's an excellent buy. PC games are great, but somehow the 360 online community and friends to play online with can really be beaten. As a gaming device, 360 tops. Irrespective, hope to see you back online soon.

@ BigHeadMY - last night's connection was really bad. Sorry u had a terribly laggy game. Hope your connection gets better. Sometimes its like that, one nite bad another nite lag-free.

I read somewhere that Streamyx is coming up with a 3MB package? That should be a step in the right direction.

Yes, it was indeed laggy. I am curious because I play with others online from US, UK and other parts of the world, most of the time, pretty smooth. Must be TMNut! My Streamyx is actually now at 1.5Mbs, even though on 1Mbs package. Maybe connections between Streamyx and Streamyx is much further compared to connections to US/UK! whistling.gif

Actually, it's your Streamyx to my Hong Kong connection. I'm on 8Mbps line.
