Travel Cameron Highland, Recommended things to see and do?

hi all, would like to ask, which is a better route to take , simpang pulai or tapah if want to go cameron at night... start journey from KL at 10 pm something ?
Important is safety . Staying at tanah rata , though i know tapah is nearer, but since driving like around midnight at that area.... wondering take which route better. will the tapah route full of fogs? First time driving there. |

Not trying to scare you, it can be easier/less risky than what I've stated. But just to set some expectation to be careful. |
