It is possible to wait for the local bus. It should be very economy. I've tried once.

Well, the local buses have no aircon(u dun need it @CH biggrin.gif ). And the schedule is not frequent. Also service is till evening only. Checkout the schedule when u are at tanah rata.

da local bus company REGAL...is SUCK UP all time. Unreliable..they put up a schedule detailing da frequency of buses...in reality its just a piece of stupid paper to misled passengers. I waited for da bus for hours! not even one is visible. Better drive to CH. Moving around CH with a taxi is an expensive thing to do.

hi, i have few questions wanna ask regarding transportation to CH
1)if i were to take express bus up CH from kl, does the driver sped and drive recklessly up the hill and down the hill?
2)and will the bus ticket fully booked during raya?

thanks mate..planning a trip up with few mates..smile.gif

Most driver going up to CH r experience drivers. They know all da dangerous curve. I went there about one month ago. It was raining heavily that time. Lots of mini landslide..but da bus driver can tell u all da dangerous spots! Look for this company...KURNIA BESTARI...

for more enquiries about CH...you can go to this portal http://www.cameronhighlands.com/

i find that the lakehouse i expensive
but is seriously v beautiful

You can read interesting reviews about Lakehouse posted by seasoned travelers on tripadviser:

1) http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g2...nds_Pahang.html

What type of low cars are you talkin' about? no worries...even with a kancil will do. there are certain dangerous stretch (sharp curvy lane..you have to be careful on your way up to CH...plan your journey and try to avoid going up during rainy days...some minor landslide will occur.

and olso on narrow mountain roads, drive as far to the left as possible and sound your horn where you cannot see at least 200 feet ahead or on steep curves.

Lakehouse is quite far from Tanah Rata or Brinchang. So, if you need to jalan-jalan cari makan, you have to travel with ur car.

Hi, I'm looking for a budget stay in CH, but since it's first time going there, I don't know which one is good.

My budget is under RM100. Here's a few I got from internet.

Daniel Travellers Lodge
Twin Pines
Father Guest House.

Any comment on those?

There is a new addition - Daniel/Kang Travelers Hotel opposite Tanah Rata bus Station. Daily only RM60

I have few doubts here:
1) Is there any ATM machines at CH? Just in case need cash on weekends or public holidays...
2) Will those bus services available on ad-hoc basis from CH to KL? Or will I be able to get bus ticket for this direction while I am there?
3) I don't have a credit card. Can I book room without credit card? Or is it a must to pay first while booking but not during check-in/out?
4) One forumer mentioned that KRS Pine Guest House normally will have rooms available even on peak season/public holidays. Do you think it'll be ok if I decide to stay there without prior booking?
5) Base on one of the provided link, KRS has following room: double room - single, double room - double, double room - twin, all costing $90. Anybody know what are the differences?

Thanks for any suggestion.

2) Kurnia Bestari is quite reliable. Plan your holiday and get ur ticket earlier to avoid dissapointment. Local and foreign tourist rely on buses to Cameron Highland and Pudu Raya. Going to be a peak period by Christmas time.

4) & 5) Don't rely 100% on those infos provided in the net. Most of the time, the details provided are not up to date. You just need to call KRS room and reservation, get the room details and book your room - as simple as that and also piece of mind smile.gif

Here are the contact details for KRS room and reservation:

No 7 Jalan Mentigi
Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands
Phone: (05) 4912777 (Kris) / (019) 5101777 (Raj)
