I'm planning to go there this June together with my wifey
Now are deciding where to stay, thinking of either Strawberry Park or Equatorial
Anyone stayed there before please give some comment a bit, in terms of the rooms/facilities, cleanliness and their service quality. Btw we prefer somewhere which is quite and peaceful.

Just booked Strawberry park for 2 night using wotif.com

Really disappointed with the local service... really cannot harap and not professional at all.

First I call directly to both hotel, Equatorial and Strawberry, the reservation agent are unfriendly, and cold. I was told all of the superior or studio rooms are fully booked already, and I ask about the room rates, and both quoted me more than RM250++. I ask for some discount in a very friendly way and both refuse to budge an inch.
So I tried to email them directly, Equatorial are still fully booked, but Strawberry now have rooms available, and the quoted price are still RM250++

Then I try my luck again on a few local websites like Cuti.com.my, Equatorial are still fully booked, and guess what? Strawberry still got rooms, but the online rate are only slightly cheaper than the rates from hotel directly.

Now I really fed up, and try wotif.com, and woo hoo!! I got meself RM170 nett per night with breakfast at Strawberry Park Resort. At a rate almost 40% cheaper than their so called "special price offered to Malaysian only"!!

ironic isn't it? I book a local hotel using oversea website as a foreigner is a lot more cheaper than I book locally as a Malaysian. doh.gif

"Syabas" and "well done" to the Cuti-cuti Malaysia campaign, now you encourage more people to visit oversea as it's cheaper than visiting your own country!!

Now raining season leh... just be extra careful when driving there, some of the road can be slippery, especially those going down hill one.

Make sure you check your tyre thread and breaks.

Bala's Chalet you mean?
Stayed there once, and not going back there anymore, not worth the money you are paying for.

Last time I book a family room for a group of 5, at the phone they promised to give me the double storey room for the price of RM450. But upon arriving they gave me a single storey tiny room which can fit in 4 only. Then they told me all of the room type I booked is full, so they gave me 2 rooms instead.

Yes the place is quiet on a hill, and has it's old english charm since it's converted from a old english school. But the whole place is run down, and not maintain properly. They have limited parking space, rooms is not that clean, especially the carpets. Hot water in bathroom is not consistent, one minute you are having a hot shower and the next minute the water can turn icy cold. Their room pricing not including breakfast too. Reminds me of the cheap B&B Inns overseas, except this one you are paying more to get the bad experience.

If you are really looking for a quiet place up on a hill in Cameron, I highly recommended Strawberry Park Resort, at least the place is clean and quiet, room is spacious, no worries of having cold shower suddenly, and their price includes nice continental buffet breakfast too. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, it's much more cheaper than staying at Bala's.

For cheaper room, you can checkout wotif.com, last time I manage to book a RM150 room from there thumbup.gif

oic..then is there any farm nearby heritage can go by walking? how far was it?

I really not recommend to visit cameron without own transport, since all of the attractions spread out widely.
Taking taxi up there also will be super expensive, and buses are not reliable. Walking? That will kill you pretty fast as it's hilly there.

There's many places is only accessible with own transport like both Boh tea plantation.

If really don't have own transport, you might need to resort to joining a day tour.

Equatorial still one of the best in CH although abit old dy..but the lobby toilet darm smelly..abused by those free parkers going to Kea farm nxt door haha

@De LEgend..Yeah the charcoal steamboat really spoilt my dinner last time esp the one after Equatorial - Water crest..steamboat...not cheap sumore...Nowadays, the best reasonable steamboats are located at Tanah Rata.
*
stay at both Equatorial and Strawberry Park before

For me Equatorial so so only, Strawberry Park is so much better, room is bigger too and away from all those noisy street down there

some may think the location as an disadvantage, but for me I enjoyed every moment of driving up and down from the hotel thru the winding road

Oh yeah, if someone ever thought of staying at Bala Chalet... avoid it at all cost, it's one of the worst place you can stay in Cameron
ain't worth the price you're paying for the room which is overpriced and dirty
and most of the time they don't have or mixed up the room you booked for doh.gif

For steamboat, last steamboat we had is the one bundled with Hotel Titiwangsa's room, it's clean n not bad smile.gif
