Hi guys, me and a few friends of mine are planning to go to CH for our bug collection for Biology project. But we're also planning to go for a trip in Cameron Highland. With a budget of course.

So now this is our plan : -
- We're heading to CH by bus from Puduraya, so far the bus fares we found from various website are priced within RM28~35. Is it reasonable?
- As for accommodations, we're planning to stay in an apartment with kitchen and basic necessities. Is there any recommendations by you guys?
- What is the best period to go CH? I am planning to make this trip as interesting as possible.
- For backpackers, is there any bus services around CH? How about the bus fares?

I will post up more questions if I remembered them. Thanks to those who're helping.

Hihi. I'm also going CH, this weekend. Never been there, my first time. I have also done alot of googling on this. For the bus fare, RM22( for normal bus) - RM35 (for super VIP coach; comfy). They are scheduled so you have to check for the time table. Best period to go CH would be this month and dec, according to people who've been there many times.

Yes, there is bus service around in CH. So far that I've searched, they come with tour packages. The most basic package is vising butterfly park, tea planation, etc (about 6-8 places, one day tour) for RM22. This tour ticket can be bought at the station when you reach Tanah Rata.

For more infos you can visit www.cameronhighlands.com

Hope it helps.

Added on November 3, 2009, 9:19 amI have a question to others though, I plan to go on a ONE DAY trip by bus but I notice the return time to KL for the last bus is 4.30pm (as shown on the website). Does anyone know any alternatives way if I wanna go back around 6-8pm? Any other bus services?

They say taxi is hard to get.

Please help! Thanks!

Taxi from CH to KL - around RM$200.  You can check on the taxi once you arrive at the bus terminal at Tanah Rata, there's a taxi station there.

How about check on buses to Tapah, then bus/taxi from Tapah to KL?  Or CH to Ipoh, Ipoh to KL?

If you are going for day trip, why not just book the CH tour that departs from KL?  This should includes two way bus + sightseeing/tour...

Day trip to CH from KL, can be quite tiring wo...  Well, if it costs RM$200 for a cab back to KL, might as well pay RM$70-90 to stay one night at Twin Pines and go back to KL the next morning...

Hello thanks for much for replying! Means that taxi is not hard to get at tanah rata? As for the taxi there, they just send you to KL somewhere or to your house?

Due to personal reason I'm strictly to Day trip only ..

As for the CH tour that departs from KL with two way bus and tour.. Is there any website that you can provide? Need advance booking? Coz I'm from sarawak. walk-in to travel agencies in kl is not possible.

Thanks!

I've looked into these. Once reached tanah rata, we will follow tour as below

Quoted by one of the travel agencies
~ Transfer – KL / Cameron / KL
~ Strawberry Farm
~ Cactus Valley
~ Honey Bee Farm
~ Rose Garden
~ Tea Plantation & Factory
~ Market Square
~ Sam Poh Buddhist Temple
~ Stopover at Lata Iskandar Waterfalls on the way to Cameron

Tour is about 4 and half hour which starts from 2pm.. price is RM275 per pax.
I'm asking him the duration for the whole trip now.
