I think he meant that at higher frets eg fret 19, 22, 24... MetalZone finds it difficult to reach the 5th or 6th string with his pinky.

One way to get a comfortable pinky access of string 5th and 6th at higher frets is by positioning your guitar higher. (See picture below for guitar position.)
yeah thats what i meant. i think it's more like the 6th string. it feels awkward and unnatural coz i have to twist the rest of my hand upward more just to compensate for the pinky, regardless of whether i'm standing or sitting. referring to ur pic i think my standing position is somewhat between medium and high. it's already the highest my strap can go.

@blackangel... are you sure Gibson's quality is to be considered as divine?

btw...if i wanna change my FR...except Ibanez original FR...which brand is fits ibanez body? Thanks.

your Lo-TRS II route can be fitted with OFR style trems. I recommend the Gotoh FR. its much cheaper than the OFR and equally as good.

FR is like that la..need time to tame it...jz like being a wild beast trainer in circus!

actually it's, provided you got a good FR, you just need to understand how it works and get familiar with it. then it's all good...

ok, question about tuning with FR.
let say i want to drop tune from EADGBE to DADGBE, just one string to down tune. does it take time?
*
as everdying said, it's not as simple as that, unless you block the trem (or lock it with a tremol-no).
the moment you detune the low E, there is less string tension towards the bridge, so the trem springs will pull everything else sharp.
it's not impossible to do so, but everytime you wanna detune, you have to re-setup ur trem angle and retune(read: a couple of times).

I see...Gotoh's name is all around guitarist forum....comparing to an EDGE PRO.....which one turn up as the winner?

I'm having a long time never dive my tremolo since it'll gone out of tune easily....and the tuning was a big headache for me....where could i found the retailer?
*
Gotoh makes the top end Ibanez trems anyway (ZR trem, Edge pro, Lo-pro Edge, Edge). So again... preference.

You can get it online here

For your Ibanez RG, it is recommended that you get One F-Spaced for the bridge and one Normal Spaced for your neck. According to most, whether or not your bridge is F-spaced or not, does not really affect the tone much (since the magnet or whatever 'aura' do not travel straight up from the polepieces). But rather more for cosmetic purposes. Having F-spaced for your bridge will align the pole pieces nicely under your strings.

And as for the neck, there is no need for F-spaced because the string spacing is the same as Les Paul guitars, I think.

Correct me if I'm wrong, fellow forumites.  thumbup.gif

I use F-spaced on both neck and bridge of my RG though. the neck aligns perfectly, but the bridge even though it is F-spaced, it's still short by a little. but then again, it's probably cosmetic.
