QUOTE(Victor3010 @ Aug 30 2007, 12:49 AM) Hi Guys, I'm 15 this year, I've been quite interested in photography recently, I am using a Kodak LS743 but the screen already starting to give way.... D40 Kit + 2nd Batt. + Screen Protector + UV Filter for RM2100. Recon u take a CPL filter la. Then another 55-200 VR, around RM3k la in total. Speedlite...Depends on urself laWhat's the current price for a d40 kit set?? (the best deal in Klang Valley) I saw One U Shong Lee selling for abt rm2400, haven nego....but I guess the price would remain around there,it comes with some standard freebies... but this model is about a year already right?the price didn't really drop... I'm thinking if I buy a D40, I'll buy the kit set and with one AF-S 55-200mm VR, what filter should I get...My budget is around 3k... May I know why one telephoto lens cost so much more than a 55-300mm, a 300mm telephoto is about 5k right??or more???what makes it to be so expensive but it still have the same focal length....need some guidance, tks in advance Should I buy it here or buy it overseas (some countries tax free)....if tax free, than it cost a lot cheaper, I may consider a D80 (is it a very complicated camera?).. last question, is a speedlite necessary actually? I use both Nikon n Canon. With a same budget, u can oso consider 350D. U will find some prob when u wanna get new lens coz D40 cant autofocus on other AF lenses. |

Hmm for the VR, i think it need some power to operate, coz of the moving of the VR group lens.
I tried my lens be4, i feel that it consume more power than using the kit lens with full time VR on juz wat i think la... |

The first thing you have to know is Canon's DSLR are using CF, not SD. As for today's technology, CF can reach higher speed than SD.

So, from my own exp., 400D using a Sandisk Ultra II save faster than D40 using Toshiba Class 4 in burst mode. Same setting and frames.
