I'm looking for DSLR . migrating from Fuji 2800z.. Kinda interested in N40 . Few questions ;

1.  What do I need for my first DSLR in term of accessories ?
2.  Where the reliable place to get this ?
3.  what are differences between N40 and N40x ?

the tauke niao of the shop opposite tun jugah de...so cocky... i went there ask got sell dslr cam or not...she don even let me finish my sentence then say:"all there...if got then got if don have then no liao" don even look at me... lolz...another one at bdc...the shop is inside the same building with everise... i went there today ask got sell nikon cam...they say no..and i ask how bout 350D then the person like dun understand me talking...say no don have... why kuching people dunno bout photograph still open photograph shop? jeff you bought your cam where?please tell...

Take your time, no need to hurry at all, research kau kau before pulling the trigger. You dun wanna research half way, then buy something, and when you continue your research later only to find that "aiyah! cannot do this, cannot do that"

but if you really wanna get the d40, i think buying used is a good idea, then just get an sb600 (rm600+/-) and you can already get most of the benefits of an slr. People who sell their d40 are most likely those whom I mentioned as above (didn't do enough research), or kena poison very likely to have little actual usage. And there's a good thing with buying used, you can sell it back for about the same amount of $$ and you only need to say "used", no need to say..."this is a 5th hand camera"

That'd depends on how quickly you learn and of course, how deep your pocket goes. You definitely don't wanna put a n00b in a ferrari, and you sure as hell don't wanna put a genius-n00b in a kancil

The next step is when my pocket goes deeper

Am thinking of switching my kit lens and the 55-200mm for a 18-200mm lens.

Sigh, its much more convinient after trying to walk around taking shots with two lenses and changing in between. Time to do some homework!

If u only want only single lens all the time, definery its advisble to go for the 18-200VR. Although expensive, that perhaps one of the best value lens and the quality is still great too.

Unles budget permits, then 55-200 is fine, provided if u dont mind swapping lens. Kit lens 18-55 + 55-200 VR is a good combination though.
