I just cleaned the TB using Threebond, now the idle RPM stay at 2-2.2k. Any way to bring it down to normal RPM without reflash the ECU? I plan to let it learn for 3 days see how, if still high then have to reflash ECU liao, any idea?
*
Hi Bro... notworthy.gif

Honestly me kenot brain how cleaning TB cld hv that kind of effect on the idle rpm... rclxub.gif
Unless, of course...
(1) got so much "dirt" on yr butterfly valve that's been removed & yr throttle is now so open 2increase rpm...?? shocking.gif
(2) something in 3bond that has tricked the sensors/ecu 2open up yr throttle & simulate better rpm response. ..a kind of butt dyno effect that yr TB has been so well cleaned? tongue.gif
Sometimes wonder wat's in these chemical concoctions which advertise "miracle cures" in engines.... rolleyes.gif

Do you know the hose size that connect between engine head loop back to intake hose? Plan to fit a OCT on that, that day clean TB notice the intake hose is very oily, which i think contribute alot to my dirty TB. Thanks.
*
Hi Bro... notworthy.gif

Suggest 2 options...
1.
a) Remove connecting hose.
b) Connect separate standalone mini PCV air filter to rocker cover tube/"inlet".
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

c) Block tube @air inlet/point b4 TB.
NB. This simple mod provides good 1-way airflow circulation for rocker cover space ie PCV ventilation sys.

2. Use a 12 mm fuel hose 2connect a simple fuel filter (as OCT) in-btwin rocker cover & TB point.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

NB. This wld collect oil fumes "sucked" towards TB point if & when sudden strong vacuum caused by sudden large throttle openings. .. tongue.gif

Best wishes! cheers.gif

I dont trust patching, cause my friends said if patch every week the tyre pressure will fall and need to pump.
damn mafan isn't it

whats your experience on patched tyres?
*
Hi Bro... notworthy.gif

Attn: Bros iskazulka .. dares .. V12Kompressor .. r3apers

Best way 2patch up a tubeless tyre ==> http://tyrestore.in/tubelesstyre.asp

However most local shops dun do that...
Me had probs getting that method done..even in Pg!! sweat.gif
T
Shops charge more (me used 2pay RM15-20 per patch incl labour charge...no gst that time!) but shops still prefer short cut simple method (esp for small diam punctures)...simple & fast...
Customers also prefer cos cheap & fast!

For safety, me recommend this inner to outer patch...esp for larger diam holes... icon_rolleyes.gif

ps. Me still searching for image of that type of patch... tongue.gif

UPDATE :

1. Newer (branded) patches? http://www.schraderinternational.com/Produ...c_lang=en-US-SA
2. Wat me meant & had done b4...called (now me rber...) a combination patch!: rolleyes.gif

iinm, simple patch is outer patch. better patch is from inner patch which is more expensive than outer patch. tayar shop dunwan do inner patch because owner lousy tak paham summore claim expensive and also not trust patching. if me also dunwan entertain like that kind of person liao. unless owner state want to do inner patch, then ok will do it.

iinm, simple is to do outer patch. inner patch have to take out Tyre first. more troublesome a bit to do.
*
Hi Bro... notworthy.gif

Very true there...esp for tiny punctures...eg hole is much smaller than available rubber plugs...
If well done, no leaks! thumbup.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Larger punctures reli need the internally done combination patch 2b safe for hiway & fast driving...IINM.... rolleyes.gif

ps. My Gaga still running on 1 patched up tyre for oledi 6 mths....city & A/S -Pg Hiway use...so far still like UNpunctured tyre!! Nail was only the small abt 1 inch kind.... biggrin.gif

nestum does this patching. however it won't be your standard tire patching price iinm was rm10-20 or more.

i can vouch for the patched tire... because it was on my ad08r and i've had 1 or 2 Sepang track days since it was patched...
*
Hi Bro... notworthy.gif

rclxms.gif thumbup.gif rclxm9.gif wub.gif

Fyi me got memo fr Dunlop Industries HQ years ago re advice & recommendation for patching tubeless tyres....
The Combination Patch was the safest recommended method.

What tyre shops are mostly doing is juz a "get yu home" sort of repair....acc to Dunlop... whistling.gif
Possibly...the newer softer "natural rubber" type of those plugs make better seals than the earlier solid stiffer plugs?

If me dig thru my "museum" archived files, might b able 2find that memo.... tongue.gif

well i opted for the best repair method during that time la.

because it's either that, or rm600+ for another ad08r LOL
the nail/metal object did not fully puncture the tire also, but i wouldn't want to risk it in a race track so got it patched lo
*
Good4yu, Bro!
Made right choice! Considering usage & costwise...well worth it lo!!
Tyres..Car..Life...all not cheap lo!! wub.gif

Me had 2insist on combination patch cos was travelling with fmly at least 3-4 times a yr fr T'loh 2Pg via Bentong-Sempah Pass (no hiway)...KL...to Pg...No Hiway all the way!! rclxub.gif cry.gif
Safety has been alwaz TOP priority in spite of lower income then... cheers.gif

i'm not sure but people say get sport rim can improve stability and performance..haha

*
Hi Bro... notworthy.gif

Since no one has yet 2comment, me try 2give yu an idea of the enormosity of yr queries!! rclxm9.gif

Re yr queries..there's no straightforward answer... rclxub.gif

Re "...improve stabilty & performance", many factors need 2b considered including ( and some other factors eg suspension etc...) :
a. Diam of new rims
b. Width of new rims
c. Weight of new rims
d. Tyre brand & type
e. Size of tyres
f. Weight of tyres

Also when one considers stability & performance, other aspects may be also affected...
Eg FC..acceleration (pick up?)...NVH...etc.

There will alwaz b plusses & minuses...no escape wan... whistling.gif

Do lots of reading up...equip yrself with necessary knowledge...
Then make yr own "well-informed" choices & ultimate decision... tongue.gif

Best wishes & Good Luck!! cheers.gif
